LegionChinese — Chinese localization for World of Warcraft: Legion 7.3.5

LegionChinese adds Chinese text to quests, NPC dialogue, books and other parts of the original Legion 7.3.5 interface.

It works offline, requires no translation API key, and is enabled by default on first installation. Existing Chinese text is preserved. When a translation is needed, the addon prefers Simplified Chinese, falls back to Traditional Chinese, and keeps the original text if neither is available.

Features

• Quests: Translates supported quest titles, descriptions, objectives, progress and completion dialogue, quest log entries, and objective tracker text.
• NPC dialogue: Translates supported dialogue text and conversation options.
• Books and letters: Displays available Chinese translations in the original reading window.
• Cast bars: Localizes supported spell, channeling, gathering and item-use names on the player and controlled pet cast bars.
• Pets and summons: Translates default names with reliable Chinese equivalents. Custom pet names and random names without a verified translation remain unchanged.
• World objects: Localizes supported mouseover names for portals, chests, gathering nodes, signs and other objects.
• Chat item links: Uses your client’s Chinese item and dungeon data to display Chinese item and Mythic Keystone names in the original chat windows. Preserves item properties, keystone levels, affixes and clickable links. Existing messages refresh when the required data becomes available.
• Keystone tooltips: Provides a Chinese translation of the Legion Mythic Keystone usage description.

The addon uses preserved Chinese client text and community-maintained databases. It does not use machine translation. Chinese clients retain their existing UI fonts.

Installation

1. Download the addon ZIP from this project’s Files tab.
2. Exit the game and extract the LegionChinese folder into Interface/AddOns/.
3. Check that the resulting path is Interface/AddOns/LegionChinese/LegionChinese.toc.
4. Start the game and enable LegionChinese in the AddOns menu.

Translation is enabled by default. To update, exit the game and replace the existing addon folder with the new version. Your enabled/disabled setting is preserved.

For the best experience, use a client with the matching Chinese language resources installed. If needed, close the game and launcher, back up WTF/Config.wtf, and set:

SET textLocale "zhCN"
SET audioLocale "zhCN"

The first setting controls text and the second controls audio. You may keep your existing audio language. Changing these settings does not download missing language files.

Commands

After changing the setting, close and reopen any quest, dialogue or book window.

Compatibility and coverage

Designed for the original WoW Legion 7.3.5 interface, with data and API checks primarily based on build 7.3.5.26972. Modified clients, custom server text and third-party interface addons may need additional compatibility work.

Translation coverage is still being expanded. Missing or uncertain matches remain in their original language. Chat messages themselves, world speech bubbles and cinematic subtitles are not translated. Chat item names require suitable Chinese data from your client.

LegionChinese 为军团再临 7.3.5 的原版界面补充任务、NPC 对话、书籍及其他内容的中文显示。

插件离线运行，无需申请翻译 API 密钥，首次安装默认开启。已有中文保持原样；需要翻译时，优先使用简体中文，没有简体时使用繁体，两者都没有就保留原文。

主要功能

• 任务汉化： 支持已收录的任务标题、正文、目标、进行中与交任务对话，以及任务日志和右侧任务追踪栏。
• NPC 对话： 翻译已收录的对话正文与交谈选项。
• 书籍与信件： 在原版阅读窗口中显示已有的中文译文。
• 角色读条： 汉化角色及受控宠物原版读条中的施法、引导、采集和使用物品名称。
• 宠物与召唤物： 翻译有可靠中文对应的默认名称。玩家自定义名字，以及尚无可靠译文的随机名字保持原样。
• 场景物件： 汉化已收录的传送门、宝箱、采集点、路牌等物件的鼠标提示名称。
• 聊天物品链接： 使用本机客户端的中文物品和副本资料，在原版聊天窗口显示中文物品及史诗钥石名称。保留物品属性、钥石层数、词缀和点击功能；资料加载后，已经显示的消息也会自动更新。
• 钥石提示： 补充军团再临史诗钥石的中文使用说明。

译文来自保存的中文客户端资料和社区数据库，不使用机器翻译。中文客户端沿用原有界面字体。

安装方法

1. 在本项目的 Files 页面下载插件 ZIP 安装包。
2. 退出游戏，将压缩包中的 LegionChinese 文件夹解压到 Interface/AddOns/。
3. 确认文件路径为 Interface/AddOns/LegionChinese/LegionChinese.toc，避免多套一层文件夹。
4. 启动游戏，在角色选择界面的插件列表中启用 LegionChinese。

首次安装默认开启汉化。更新时退出游戏，用新版插件文件夹替换旧版即可，之前保存的开关设置会保留。

建议使用已安装对应中文语言资源的客户端。如需设置语言，请先关闭游戏和登录器，备份 WTF/Config.wtf，再修改：

SET textLocale "zhCN"
SET audioLocale "zhCN"

第一项控制文字，第二项控制语音；只需要中文文字时，可以保留原有语音语言。修改配置不会自动下载缺少的中文资源。

常用命令

切换开关后，请关闭并重新打开当前任务、对话或书籍窗口。

适用范围与翻译覆盖

插件面向军团再临 7.3.5 原版界面，数据与接口核对主要基于 7.3.5.26972。修改过的客户端、服务器自定义文字及第三方界面插件，可能需要额外适配。

译文仍在持续补充，缺少译文或无法可靠匹配的内容会保留原文。目前不翻译玩家聊天正文、世界对话气泡和过场字幕。聊天物品名称需要本机客户端提供相应中文资料。
