Legacy Mail Ledger

The addon gives you a searchable, account-wide record of mail across your World of Warcraft Classic Era characters.

It records what each character has observed in the mailbox, preserves historical versions, tracks successful outgoing mail, and helps identify mail that may be approaching expiration.

Opening the ledger

Open Legacy Mail Ledger using:

• /ml
• /mailledger
• The minimap icon
• The Ledger button on the mailbox window

Opening a mailbox requests a scan. Mail belonging to offline characters represents the last completed local observation and is not live server state.

Cross-character mail tracking

When Track mail sent between my characters is enabled, a successful send to a unique tracked character creates a pending recipient entry immediately.

The pending entry is validated and replaced with Blizzard's observed mailbox data when the recipient next completes a mailbox scan.

Legacy Mail Ledger uses strict content matching and deliberately avoids claiming a match when identical transfers are ambiguous.

Expiration tracking

The addon records observed expiration times and can warn you when mail is approaching expiration.

Estimated or elapsed expiration data remains marked Overdue - unverified until the relevant character completes another mailbox scan.

Auctionator integration

Auctionator is optional.

When available, the addon uses Auctionator's current prices to estimate attachment value. Historical mail is also valued using current prices rather than a historical market snapshot.

Missing or unavailable price information is shown as unavailable rather than being treated as zero.

Important mailbox behavior

Capturing incoming mail body text through Blizzard's mailbox API marks that mail as read.

This behavior is required to retain searchable body text and cannot be avoided by the addon.

Local data and privacy

All durable ledger data is stored locally in your account-wide SavedVariables file:

WTF/Account/<account>/SavedVariables/LegacyMailLedger.lua

Exports and backups may contain:

• Character names and realms
• Senders and recipients
• Subjects and mail bodies
• Attachments
• Money and COD information
• Transaction context

Treat exported data and SavedVariables backups as private information. Only import data from sources you trust.

Compatibility

Legacy Mail Ledger 1.1.1 targets World of Warcraft Classic Era 1.15.x, supporting interfaces 11500–11599 and shipping with interface version 11509.
