  • Track the temporary whisper windows Blizzard opens before message
    filters run and close the ones a filtered whisper left empty; reopen
    a popout when a deferred whisper is replayed after its level resolves.
  • Cache resolved levels with expiry: a level at or above the minimum
    never expires, a lower level is re-checked after 60 seconds, and a
    failed lookup is retried after 30 seconds. The live friends list
    takes precedence over the cache.
  • Suppress only the system messages the automatic friend add or remove
    produces for that name, for the whole lookup lifetime, instead of
    every system message in a time window.
  • Treat an unavailable character-friend list (12.1 without the legacy
    friend system) as unable to look levels up, and say so once.
  • Abandon lookups on logout so filtered whispers are logged before
    SavedVariables are written, without sending replies.
  • Key session contacts by character and realm, and drop the
    pendingAutoReplies window so manual whispers stay visible.
  • Add a Lua 5.1 regression suite under tests/, excluded from packaging.
