Description
Leash Timer is a lightweight addon that helps you predict when mobs are about to reset.
It shows a clean list of every mob you’re currently in combat with. Each entry has the mob’s name and a thin duration bar. The bar is not a precise second-by-second countdown. Instead it gives you a visual window so you can see when a reset is becoming likely.
How the bar works
- The bar starts full and drains from right to left.
- A thin black line marks the start of a 4-second reset window.
- Once the bar crosses the line it turns red and begins pulsing. This means the mob is now inside the possible reset window and could reset at any moment.
Disclaimer
Leash Timer is an estimate based on observed combat timing and player position. This design was chosen because real reset timers in WoW are not perfectly consistent. Actual reset behavior can vary due to server latency, tick rates, unique mob scripts, and other factors. Treat the pulsing red section as “a reset is now possible,” not a guaranteed exact second.
Features
- Per-mob independent timers – every creature is tracked separately by GUID
- Smart refresh rules – the timer refreshes when you or your pet hit the mob, or when the mob melee-hits you while you are mostly standing still
- Spawn-distance freeze – records your position on the initial pull. If you drag the mob back near that point, the timer freezes and the bar turns orange, mimicking how the in-game leash timer freezes when a mob is kited back into its initial spawn area
- Configurable UI – max mobs shown, bar width/height, font size, and optional short GUID suffix
- Easy positioning – type /lt out of combat to show a dummy list and open the options window
Commands
- /lt or /leashtimer – toggle positioning mode and open options
