LayerMe - WoW Layering Community Addon

This addon is a fork of raizoppc's AutoLayer addon which was designed to facilitate seamless layer switching in WoW Classic. It automates the process of inviting players requesting layer changes via chat. 

Why fork the project?

The maintainers of AutoLayer consider the project to be "more or less in maintenance mode" since they do not have active WoW subscriptions to test changes. Since the original project was licensed under a WTFPL license, I have decided to start this fork so I can keep the addon working with future WoW versions and chip away at a few bugs and enhancements that have been suggested. 

What's new in this fork?

• Bug fixes to make the addon compatible with the October 21, 2025 WoW Classic patch
• No longer attempt to send invites when the player is not party or raid leader

Features

General Settings

• Enable/Disable: Toggle the addon on or off as needed.
• Debug Mode: View detailed logs for troubleshooting.
• Minimap Icon: Option to show or hide the minimap icon.

Layer Hopper

• Quick Layer Hopping: Right-click the minimap icon to open the Layer Hopper GUI, a simple interface to send layer change requests and easily hop between layers.

Messaging Settings

• Invite Triggers: Customize keywords to detect layer change requests in chat.
• Blacklist: Exclude messages with specific keywords to avoid unwanted triggers.
• Invert Keywords: Specify terms to ignore or exclude particular layers.
• Whisper Invites: Send personalized whispers to players being invited.
  • Template Support: Use %s to include the layer number dynamically.
  • Reminder Text: Add an optional second line to remind players to leave the group after switching layers.

Sound and Behavior

• Mute Sounds: Suppress party-related sounds while the addon is active.
• Disable in Raid Assist: Automatically turn off the addon when you're raid assisting.
• Auto-Kick: (Manual interaction required) Automatically remove the last group member when the group is full.

Roadmap

I have a few more features/bug fixes I'd like to implement in the future, such as: 

• Prevent spam in the layer chat if someone clicks the layer switch button in rapid succession (only send messages every 45 seconds and print a message in the chat frame in case the user has layer chat hidden)
• Command line interface to allow quick layer switching via commands such as /layer 3 or /Lm 3
• Don't try to send invites if the party is full 
• Add an option to auto-kick party members after 5 minutes (configurable)
• Check if layer channel is password locked
