Korean Translator

What it does

Korean players on English-speaking realms lose a lot of time decoding group finder listings. This addon reads English Group Finder and Trade messages and writes one Korean summary line underneath the original message, so you can tell at a glance what a listing actually says.

It is English to Korean only. It does not translate what you type, and it never modifies the original message.

Instead of glossing word by word, the addon pulls meaning slots out of a message — instance, headcount, roles, loot rules, reserved items, schedule, requirements — and rebuilds them as a Korean sentence.

Features

• 1,000+ term dictionary built from the official Korean client strings. Slave Pens is 강제 노역소 and Shadow Labyrinth is 어둠의 미궁 — not literal translations of the English names.
• Reserved-item shorthand that is never explained anywhere: DST, madness, CVoS, HoD, MoI, ToC, patterns, floor, tier tokens.
• Knows LFM from LFG. Recruiting and looking to join are opposite situations and are labelled differently.
• Three dictionary levels — essentials only, standard, or everything — so words you already know do not clutter the chat.
• Six display modes, including inline, replace, suffix glossary, and the default Korean summary line.
• Per-channel control, so you can enable Group Finder and leave Trade and General off.
• Item links are never broken by translation.

Based on WoW Translator by Pirson (Francisco Cortes), MIT License. The Korean dictionary, the sentence summary engine and the Burning Crusade specialisation were built on top of it.

Korean instance, zone and boss names come from Blizzard's own Korean client data (LibBabble-SubZone koKR and DBM's Korean localisation) and were verified against ko.wowhead.com. None of them are machine translations.
