Knokploeg addon changelog
1.10.0
- Catching up after logging in now works in a guild of any size, up to the thousand members a guild can hold. Until now it stopped working once more than about 350 guildies shared data. Your addon no longer asks for a list of everyone: it compares the guild in parts with your guildies' addons, and only what differs is looked at.
- Faster and lighter with many guildies online: several of them answer you at once, each a different part, and what you are missing is sent once. In our tests with a hundred online, someone logging in was up to date in under a minute.
- Fixed: you could be left with gaps when the first guildie to answer you had only just installed the addon and held little. Everyone who holds more now answers too.
- Fixed: data was sometimes sent to you twice or more, most of all when you were missing a lot, such as right after installing.
- While the guild updates: on this version you catch up at login from guildies who are on it too, so the first to update get less at login until others follow. Everything that happens while you are online (a level, a profession, statistics) still reaches everyone, on any version, and guildies on 1.9.2 are served as before.
- This changes how the addons talk to each other, and it has been tested outside the game only. Tell us if levels, professions or statistics of a guildie do not show up.
/kp sync(for developers) also says when a guild is too large for an older way of answering.
1.9.2
- Leaderboard: a board with more than two rankings now has two arrow buttons under them, at the bottom right, to step to the next ranking and back. They replace the scroll bar, which was easy to miss. The mouse wheel still works as before.
- Leaderboard: the names on a podium are as large as those in the list under it.
- Professions: a guildie's tooltip no longer says when their professions were shared and passed on.
- Quieter with many guildies online. When someone logs in, one guildie tells them what they missed. With many online, several used to answer at the same moment and send the same thing; now they wait a little longer the more of them there are, so one answers. Catching up takes no longer.
- Ready for a larger guild: once more than about 350 guildies shared data, every guildie online answered each login with a long message nobody could use. That no longer happens. Catching up after logging in does not work yet in a guild that large; that comes in a later version. Everything shared while you are online still arrives.
- Works alongside guildies still on 1.9.1: everything is shared as before.
1.9.1
- A dungeon run now keeps each member's guild and level. Hover a member on the Dungeons tab to see them, as on the game's own tooltip: the guild as <Guild Name>, and the level with the class. A member who gains a level during the run has the new one.
- Members without Knokploeg get theirs too, read by the rest of the group. A guild that could not be read at first (someone too far away) is filled in at the end of the next boss fight.
- Runs from before this version have no guild or level, and show as before.
- Works alongside group members still on 1.9.0: you build the same run together as before. Guild and level are only kept by those on 1.9.1.
1.9.0
- New: the Dungeons tab. Knokploeg now keeps every dungeon run of your character: when it was, how long it took, each boss with the time it died (or how often the group wiped on it), and who was in the group. Pick a dungeon on the left and a run in the middle to see it. Someone who left the group during the run is shown faded.
- New: the instance tracker. Inside a dungeon or raid, a small window on your screen shows the run's clock, how many bosses are down, and each boss with when it died. Drag it where you want it. "Show Instance Tracker" on the Dungeons tab switches it off and on. It says "Instance Loading" until you use your first spell or ability inside: that is how the addon learns which copy of the dungeon you are in.
- Group members who run Knokploeg build a run together, so everyone ends up with the same times, also for a fight they missed. They do so with hidden messages in your party or raid, never in chat, and nothing is sent during a boss fight. Members without the addon are still listed in the run.
- Runs stay on your own computer for now: they are not shared with the guild and there is no ranking of them yet. Raids are followed and shown by the tracker, but the Dungeons tab lists dungeons only.
- This is the first release of dungeon runs, and it has had little testing in the game, none of it in a raid. Tell us when a run looks wrong.
- The Leaderboard ranks only members who are in the guild now. A character that is in no guild sees nobody.
- The "Gold from Auctions" ranking is gone. The number is still collected.
- Professions: a profession lists only the guildies who shared it (they run Knokploeg and opened the profession once), with their online dot before the name. Poisons is no longer listed as a profession.
- A tidier look: the inactive tabs get a border of their own, the window's frame and the Leaderboard's tiles line up with their contents, and the row you picked in a list glows.
- Lighter on your computer: the check codes the addon works out for everything it shares are about eight times as fast to make.
- Works alongside guildies still on 1.8.0: professions, levels and statistics are shared as before. Dungeon runs are only built together with group members on 1.9.0.
1.8.0
- The Leaderboard ranks more than levels now. New boards come from your character's Statistics tab: Gold (gold looted, from the auction house and from vendors), PvP (honorable kills, battlegrounds won), Dungeons & Raids (dungeon and raid bosses killed, deaths in dungeons, deaths in raids) and Adventure (quests completed, fish caught).
- Every one of them has a title for first place, such as "Hand in Every Pocket", "High Warlord", "Dragonslayer", "Loremaster", "Master Angler", "Corpse Runner" for the most deaths in dungeons and "The Carpet" for the most deaths in raids.
- To fill these boards, Knokploeg reads those numbers from your Statistics tab at login and then once an hour, and shares them with guildmates who run it too, only when one changed. Your numbers show up for others once you run this version.
- The Leaderboard scrolls sideways: two rankings side by side, and the mouse wheel slides on to the next one. A bar under the rankings shows when there is more to see, and can be clicked or dragged.
- The Leaderboard is now the first tab, and the race board for everyone is called "Level 60 Race - Guild".
- Former guild members' data is now kept for 90 days instead of 30, so it is all back if they rejoin within three months.
- Knokploeg now keeps all its messages to the guild within one small sending allowance, so new features never mean more traffic at once.
- Works alongside guildies still on 1.7.0: professions and levels are shared as before. Statistics are only shared between guildies on 1.8.0.
1.7.0
- Titles: whoever is first in a Leaderboard ranking earns its title. The first to reach 60 is "The No-Life King", the one who got there with the least time played "The Ultimate Sweatlord", and every class has its own pair, such as "The No-Life Shaman" and "The Sweatlord Shaman". Each ranking shows its title in gold under its name.
- Guildmates running Knokploeg see your titles on your tooltip when they hover over you, as gold lines marked with the guild fist. A title moves to whoever takes first place, and earning one sends nothing extra to the guild.
- The Leaderboard is now the race to level 60. "Guild First" shows who got there first and "Most Efficient" who got there with the least time played, side by side, and every class has a board of its own, your class first.
- Each ranking has a podium for the top three and a top ten under it, with the level everyone is at, so you can see who is closing in before anyone reaches 60. A podium place nobody has won yet shows as "Unclaimed".
- Typing /kp now opens the Knokploeg window; /kp help lists the commands. The "loaded" message at login is gone.
- The dungeon quest export (/kp quests) has been removed.
- Played time always shows days, such as "0d 5h 3m".
- Fixes: syncing and cleaning up former members now also works in a guild where everyone is online; a level is no longer recorded with the wrong play time if the game's reply goes missing; your recipes are no longer wiped if the game briefly reports no professions; the recipe search only says "First 200 recipes" when there were more.
- Works alongside guildies still on 1.6.0: nothing changed in how data is shared.
1.6.0
- Professions now spread even when a guildie is offline: guildmates pass each other's professions on, every copy carries a check code, and a guildie's own latest update always wins.
- Everyone needs this version to keep sharing professions and levels: older versions no longer exchange data with it. Guildies' professions fill in again as each of them logs in; your own characters keep theirs.
- Former guild members drop off the Professions tab and the Leaderboard. Their data is kept for 30 days, so it is all back if they rejoin.
- The addon no longer posts "[KP] Ding!" messages to guild chat at level 30, 45 and 60. Your levels are recorded and shared through the addon instead, and show up on the Leaderboard, so the chat messages are no longer needed.
- A new level is shared with the guild a moment sooner.
1.5.1
- The Leaderboard has a menu of boards. "Levels - Time Played" ranks who reached each level bracket with the least time played; "Levels - By Date" ranks who got there first. Dungeons is listed as coming soon.
- Every bracket is now a podium: gold, silver and bronze side by side, with each name in its class colour and the played time or date under it.
- Search a player on the Leaderboard to see every bracket, on every board, where they made the top three.
- Professions are a menu down the left of the Professions tab now, with the search box above it. Online and offline dots sit at the end of each row.
- The tabs and the window got a cleaner look: a gold tab for the page you are on, the same spacing on every page, and lists that scroll with the mouse wheel without a scroll bar.
1.5.0
- The Leaderboard tab is open. For every bracket from level 10 to 60 it shows who got there first, and the three who got there with the least time played, with gold, silver and bronze medals.
- Every level you reach now takes a screenshot with your level record stamped faintly across the top: name, level, play time, date and time, zone and check code. If someone ever asks, that screenshot backs up your level.
- Sharing level history between guildies is more accurate and quieter: only the records someone is actually missing are sent, nothing is sent twice, and a guildie logging out halfway no longer leaves gaps.
- The Knokploeg window has a fresh look: the guild logo sits in a round portrait frame, the spacing is even all round, and the scroll bars are slim and grey.
- In Professions, the search box moved to the bottom of the profession list, so every list has more room.
1.4.0
- The guild fist now opens one Knokploeg window with tabs along the top. Professions is the first tab; Leaderboard is coming soon and greyed out for now.
- In Professions, the search box sits above the profession list, and the "Online only" filter is gone: the list shows everyone, online first.
- Your level history is now recorded: every level you reach from here on, with your total play time, the date and time, and the zone you were in. Guildies running Knokploeg share these records quietly in the background, and every record carries a check code that is verified before it is kept. This is the groundwork for the Leaderboard tab.
1.3.1
- The professions window's columns are evenly spaced, with the same margin on both sides, and the member and recipe columns are now the same width.
- The lines under the column titles all end where their list does.
- Scroll bars no longer have arrow buttons; the bar runs the full height.
1.3.0
- Professions. A new window shows who in the guild has which profession, who is online, and what each guildie can craft. Open it with the guild fist on your minimap, or from the addon menu next to the minimap.
- Search the whole guild for a recipe: type its name, or shift-click an item while the search box is active, and see everyone who can craft it, online and highest skill first. Right-click a crafter to open a message asking them for it; you press Enter to send.
- Skill levels and recipes come from guildies who also run Knokploeg. The addon shares yours with them in the background, and picks up your recipes when you open a profession window. Everyone else still shows under their professions, from the guild list.
- The minimap button can be hidden with
/kp minimap, and brought back the same way.
1.2.1
- The ding screenshot now shows your message faintly at the top of the screen, so it stays readable even when your chat has scrolled on or faded out.
1.2.0
- Level announcements. When you reach level 30, 45 or 60, the addon posts your
ding to guild chat with your total play time and the realm time, for example
[KP] Ding! Level 30 - 2d 5u 13m - 21:07 #efa01d, and takes a screenshot once the message shows in chat. It runs on its own; there is nothing to type. - The code at the end of the message shows the ding came from the addon, so a hand-typed fake stands out.
1.1.0
- The export now reports your faction and class, so the tracker sets both filters for you instead of leaving you to pick them, and can filter out quests no character of yours can take. Only the Warlock quest The Orb of Soran'ruk is class locked today, but Shadowfang Keep was counting it against everyone.
- Covers the pre-quests and follow-up quests around each dungeon chain.
1.0.2
- The export now covers the pre-quests that gate dungeon quests, not just the dungeon quests themselves: 79 quests in total, 15 of which are picked up out in the world. The tracker uses them to show which dungeon quests you cannot pick up yet, and which chain to run first.
- Corrected which quests are Alliance or Horde only. Several dozen were showing to both factions.
1.0.1
First published release.
/kplists the addon's commands./kp questschecks the 66 Forever dungeon quests, plus the pre-quests that gate them, against your quest log and turn-in history, and opens a window with a string to paste into the tracker at https://knokploeg.app/quests/.
