Visual keybind editor for WoW Forever

See your bindings. Put every ability within reach.

Keysmith shows your keyboard and mouse buttons with their current bindings, so you can see what each key does and change it right there. Drag spells onto keys, find abilities you haven’t bound yet, and organize your Shift, Ctrl, and Alt combinations in one window.

See and edit your bindings

• Your keyboard at a glance. See ability icons, binding names, and spell ranks on the keys themselves. Colors distinguish abilities, movement, targeting, and interface actions, and flag bindings that point to empty action-bar slots.
• Drag, move, and swap. Drag spells, macros, items, or mounts onto a key. Move an existing binding to another key, or swap two bindings. Right-click a key to unbind it.
• Find abilities without a key. Browse the searchable Unbound abilities list, grouped by spellbook tab. Click an ability, then click a key to bind it. Search also highlights matching keys on the keyboard.
• Make room with modifiers. Switch between Base, Shift, Ctrl, and Alt, or pin a combination such as Ctrl + Shift. Add and rename tabs for the combinations you use most.
• Spot matching bindings. Hover a key to highlight other keys with the same binding. Small S, C, and A badges show bindings on other modifier layers.
• Undo and keep experimenting. Undo reverses your last change. Revert rolls back changes made since you opened the window. A status line tells you what changed.

Bind spells without filling your action bars

Spells dragged onto keys use WoW’s direct spell bindings, so they don’t need an action-bar slot. Existing action-button bindings still show the icon of whatever is in that slot.

Spell ranks appear on the keys and in the ability list. Binding the highest rank follows your top rank as you learn new ones. Turn on View → All ranks in list to browse individual ranks.

Choose your keyboard layout

Choose from English US, English UK, Deutsch QWERTZ, Français AZERTY, Dvorak, and Colemak. If a key doesn’t match what WoW reports, use Calibrate to teach Keysmith your layout.

The View menu can also show navigation keys, the numpad, and Mouse 1 & 2. Mouse 1 & 2 require a Shift, Ctrl, or Alt modifier. Resize the window to fit your UI.

Get started

1. Install Keysmith for your WoW Forever client.
2. Type /ks or /keysmith to open it, then choose your keyboard layout.
3. Drag an ability onto a key, or select one under Unbound abilities and click its destination.
4. Choose a modifier tab to set up more bindings. Use Undo if you change your mind.

Changes save immediately to your currently selected account or character binding set. Binding changes are locked during combat.

Common questions

Which version of WoW is this for?

Keysmith is currently built for WoW Forever.

Can I undo after closing the window?

Yes. Use /keysmith undo. Undo history is cleared when you reload or log out.

Can I bind a specific lower spell rank?

Keysmith supports selecting lower ranks, but casting a specific rank has not been confirmed on every client build. Test the binding on your client before relying on it.

Where can I find the controls?

Click Help inside Keysmith or type /keysmith help. Buttons also have tooltips. The Quick Keybind button opens Blizzard’s own hover-to-bind mode.
