Description
Keybind Panic
An arcade game you play with your own key bindings.
Abilities from your action bars fall into five lanes. Run to a lane with your movement keys and press the key that ability is bound to, before the lane fills up and starts hitting you. Nothing is actually cast: the panel takes the key presses itself, so you can play in town, on a flight path or in a queue.
It uses your real bars and your real keys, so every round is practice for the fight you actually play.
How it plays
- Steer with your movement keys. Left, forward-left, forward, forward-right, right. A gamepad stick works too.
- Instants reward moving. Press an instant while holding its lane's direction and it heals you. At full health you get bonus points instead.
- Casts make you stop. Anything with a cast time or a channel has to be pressed standing still, just like in the game.
- Wrong keys cost health, and reset your streak. Miss the same icon three times and the game shows you its key.
- Full lanes fight back. A lane piled over the line attacks you until you clear it, faster every level.
- Levels feel like levels. Each one is faster than the last. Reaching one clears the board and fills your health.
- Rested XP. Finish a level under its par time and part of the next level is rested: double points until you're through it. The faster you were, the more you get.
- More keybinds, bigger score. Your score is multiplied by how many keybinds you play with.
Go slowly and it stays gentle while you learn your keys. Play a clean, fast run and the streak and rested bonuses stack until icons are flying down the screen.
Features
- High scores shared automatically with guildmates and friends who have the addon, with accuracy and time. No website, no account.
- Practice sets: pick which keybinds to drill, laid out by action bar. Switch a whole bar in or out with one click, save sets by name, or let the game choose the ten you miss most.
- Pause any time. Closing the panel pauses your round, and it waits for you. Loading screens pause it automatically.
- Nothing is ever cast: no key or mouse bind can use an ability while the panel is open.
- A How to play tab in the panel covering the rules and the scoring.
- Your own character in the panel, with the real sounds and animations of your abilities.
- Battle music, with a checkbox to turn it off.
- Adjustable size: /panic size bigger, or smaller.
- No setup. It reads your bars and bindings as they are and changes nothing.
Getting started
Type /panic or click the minimap button.
You need at least 10 abilities on your bars with keys bound, plus keys for strafe left, strafe right and move forward.
Right-click the minimap button to hide it. /panic minimap brings it back.
