JicksPlates
JicksPlates is a World of Warcraft addon that improves enemy nameplates to make dungeon and raid encounters easier to read and react to.
The addon adds visual indicators to help identify important targets before pulling:
- When mobs are not hostile or not in combat, caster mobs (enemies with a mana bar) will have a light blue health bar. This helps you quickly identify which enemies are likely to cast spells and which targets will require interrupts.
- If you are a tank:
- The mob's health bar will be red when you have threat.
- It will turn green if you lose threat.
- If another tank (for example in a raid) has threat, the bar will become purple.
- If you are a DPS player:
- The mob's health bar will be red when you have aggro.
- It will remain green when you do not have aggro.
- This works independently of the roles of your teammates.
One of the main features of JicksPlates is improving nameplate positioning. Unlike Blizzard's default nameplates, where health bars can overlap and stack on top of each other, JicksPlates automatically spaces them vertically with a small gap between each bar. This creates room to clearly display casting bars and makes important abilities easier to notice.
You can still customize the health bar dimensions using Blizzard's default nameplate settings.
Casting bars have also been modified:
- They appear in pink.
- They flash to grab your attention and make interrupts easier to react to.
The goal of JicksPlates is simple: provide clearer information, faster target recognition, and better awareness during combat without adding unnecessary clutter.
