ItemLevelNameplate 2.2.0
What's new
ItemLevelNameplate 2.2.0
Fixed
- No more Lua error when a player's item data wasn't loaded yet (WoW Forever and Retail 12 removed two old item functions the addon still used).
- The settings page shows the real value of every option. Before, all checkboxes shared one value and all sliders another, so options looked like they didn't stick.
- Item levels are no longer mixed up between players. On WoW Forever every player with the same first name shared one saved entry; on Retail, players from other realms were saved under your realm. Old Forever entries are cleared once (they couldn't tell players apart); Retail entries carry over.
- Blizzard's Inspect window is left alone: the addon no longer replaces the right-click > Inspect function and no longer wipes inspect data other addons or the Inspect window are using.
- "Color by item level" works again. It used fixed The War Within numbers, so everyone showed grey after the Midnight item level squish and on Forever. It now colors compared to your own item level (see below).
- Two-handed weapons count twice, as in Blizzard's own average.
/iln configopens the addon's page directly.- No chat message at login.
New
- Item level badge (WoW Forever, new default): a round badge at the top right of the target's portrait: Blizzard's level badge at the bottom right, mirrored, with the same bronze ring and the item level inside (colored when Color Compared to You is on). Hover it for "Item Level 285"; with Gear Rarity installed, a second line counts their gear by quality ("3 Uncommon · 5 Rare · 1 Epic"). Grey "--" while checking; hidden for NPCs.
- Style: Badge on the Portrait (Forever), Text Below the Portrait (the original floating text) or Text Beside the Level (right of the round level badge on Forever and Classic; right of the portrait on Retail). Retail and Classic have no badge art, so they keep the floating text.
- Show "iLvl:" Label (on), Show Decimals (off).
- Color Compared to You: orange well above you, purple above, blue about the same, green a bit below, white below, grey far below. Also for tooltips.
- Check Players on Hover (on): turn off to show only saved item levels in tooltips, with no inspect requests.
- Settings page grouped into Target Frame and Tooltip, with options greyed out when they don't apply. Mythic+ options appear only on Retail.
/ilnopens the settings;/iln helplists the commands.- Now listed for Retail 12.1, MoP Classic, Titan Reforged, TBC Anniversary and Classic Era (one build for every client).
Changed
- Missing data shows a grey "iLvl: --" instead of "???", and "(Dead)" no longer appears under the target frame while you're dead.
- Tooltip lines update in place (no empty line left behind) and never land on another player's or an item's tooltip.
- The target frame and a tooltip waiting for the same player share one inspect request; the addon also waits for other addons' inspect requests before sending its own.
- Tooltip item level works on MoP Classic, Titan Reforged, TBC Anniversary and Classic Era (they use the classic tooltip hook).
- Smaller download: the arrow image went from 900 KB to 16 KB (same look).
Your settings
- On WoW Forever everyone switches to the new badge once; pick "Text Below the Portrait" under Style to get the floating text back, with your offsets and font size kept.
- On Retail and Classic the text stays in the same spot, size and color as before.
- All other options carry over.
