Iris: Auto Brightness, Gamma & Contrast

Forever’s lighting changes a lot between zones and at night. Iris learns the brightness, gamma and contrast you pick for each zone and time of day, then sets them for you automatically. No setup, just play and adjust.

Auto brightness, gamma and contrast that learns from you.

Forever's lighting doesn't work with one setting. What looks right in Westfall is too dark in Duskwood and too bright in Ashenvale, and night makes it worse. Most fixes have you set every zone by hand. Iris just watches what you pick and remembers it.

## How it works

1. Play like normal.
2. When something looks off, open the Iris panel and nudge brightness, gamma or contrast.
3. Iris remembers that setting for the zone, the spot you're in, whether you're indoors, and the time of day.
4. Next time you're there, it sets it for you with a smooth fade instead of a jump.

The more you play, the less you touch it. If you're somewhere new, Iris uses the closest thing it knows, like the same zone at a different spot, or anywhere indoors at night.

## Features

**Learns as you go.** No presets to build and no setup.
**Zone, subzone, indoor and time of day aware.** Duskwood at night and Duskwood at noon get their own settings.
**Smooth fades.** Changes ease in over about a second. No flicker.
**You're always in control.** Anything you change by hand wins. Iris never overrides you while you're adjusting.
**Pin a spot** to lock in a setting right away.
**Reset a spot** if you want Iris to forget it.
**Auto on/off** with one click from the minimap button.
**Colorblind toggle** for quick switching.
**Comfort mode** for when your eyes are tired.
**Restores your normal settings on logout,** so nothing gets stuck.

## Commands

/iris open or close
/iris auto Turn automatic adjusting on or off
/iris pin  Lock in the current setting for this spot
/iris reset Forget this spot
/iris baseline - Save your current settings as the default
/iris status - Show what Iris is using right now

You can also set a keybind under Key Bindings > AddOns, or left-click the minimap button to open the panel and right-click it to toggle auto.

## Good to know

- Iris only changes the game's own gamma, brightness and contrast settings. It doesn't add shaders or touch your graphics driver.
- On some display modes the game only fully applies gamma. If a slider doesn't seem to do much, that's the client, not Iris.
- Everything stays on your computer. Iris doesn't send any data anywhere.
- Settings are saved per account, so all your characters share what Iris has learned.

## Feedback

This is an early release built during the WoW Forever beta. If something looks wrong or you have an idea, leave a comment. Bug reports with the zone, time of day and what you expected help a lot.
