What's new

Hindsight 1.9.0

A redesigned Hindsight: open it after a pull and see your biggest opportunity at a glance, then dig into each tab for the why.

After updating, do one new pull. Transformed spells are now compared as their own abilities, so your next pull is the first one measured the new way.

The Overview: your issue, at a glance

  • What to look at first. The biggest gap between you and top players in your hero tree, drawn: your mark against the field's range, how sure Hindsight is, and a link straight to the details.
  • A status strip for Build, Execution and Survival. Click one to open it, or hover for what it is based on.
  • Two supporting cards for the other areas, or a green "in line" when there is nothing to change.
  • Raid timeline in three lanes: your casts, boss abilities and deaths. Boss abilities come from your boss mod (BigWigs): hover a tick for the ability, with the game's own spell tooltip. The game hides boss abilities from addons directly, so without a boss mod the timeline says so. Hover a death to see what killed you. Marked every 30 seconds.
  • Dungeons get their own view. This run shows the key level, result, time against the timer, party deaths and time lost. Your run shows boss pulls and your deaths across the whole key.

Execution

  • Abilities are grouped: worth a look, above the field, in line, cooldowns per fight, situational (shown, never scored), and abilities with too few players for a range.
  • When it slipped: for each ability worth a look, your longest stretch without it, and where in the pull it happened.
  • Tanks: mitigation uptime, self-healing, and damage taken, compared with the reference tanks.
  • Each evidence card shows a measurement, not a grade: what the number is (for example "uptime on your weakest mitigation") and the reference beside it, with a bar drawing your mark against the reference. In a dungeon, CASTING is called CAST VOLUME.
  • In a dungeon, the casting strip tells walking between packs (grey) from gaps during a fight (red). This applies to keys recorded after updating.
  • When nothing differs, the full cast table is still shown, so you can see that you're in line.

Build

  • The talent tree matches the game's layout. As in the talent window, passive talents are round and choice nodes are octagons.
  • Percentages appear only where they explain something: on talents where you and the field differ, and on genuine splits. Shared choices stay quiet.
  • Hero talents are counted among the players of that hero tree only.
  • Clearer evidence: for example "27 of 27 skip them", with confidence based on how many top players agree.
  • No false warning about unmatched talents on characters that have not unlocked hero talents yet.
  • The reference build says how to take it: click the code to select it, press Ctrl+C, then paste it into the talent window's Import.

Survival

  • Recurring deaths in dungeons now show when they happened in the run.
  • A telegraphed death says when a defensive was available.

The window

  • The window fits the tab you open, grows when a taller tab needs room, and doesn't shrink or jump while open. It starts fresh each time you open it.

Fairer comparisons

  • Cooldowns are compared per fight, scaled to how long the pull lasted.
  • Interrupts, taunts and movement are shown but never scored: they depend on the fight, not on your play.
  • The reference matches your hero tree in far more fights, with new Season 2 data and fewer false alarms.
  • Below max level, your casts are shown for their shape and not compared, since the reference is max-level players.

Also new

  • /hind demo tank | dps | healer, with key added for a dungeon: a sample of every screen, without touching your own data.
