HideMMR

Hides PvP rating, MMR and rating changes to keep your mental out of the numbers

HideMMR

Play the game, not the numbers.

HideMMR hides your PvP rating, MMR and rating changes across the default Blizzard PvP interface. Climbing rated PvP is stressful enough: watching your rating drop after every lost round makes it easy to tilt, play scared or queue angry. With HideMMR you still play fully rated games. You just stop seeing the numbers that pull your focus away from the match.

Features

PvP tab (Rated)

  • Hides your current rating on the Solo Shuffle, 2v2 and 3v3 buttons.
  • Hides the ranking number under the tier icon for those brackets.

Effect: you can open the PvP window and queue without being reminded where you are on the ladder.

Scoreboard during the match

  • Hides the average MMR line on the scoreboard.
  • Hides the Rating column for every player.

Effect: you can check damage, healing and kills mid-game without sizing up the lobby by its MMR.

Match results screen

  • Hides the MMR, New Rating and Rating Change columns in the score table. Their headers are blanked too.
  • Hides the average MMR line on the results screen.
  • Hides the "+N rating" block with its tier icon and MMR tooltip under the results.

Effect: after a loss you see how the game went, not how many points it cost you. You move on to the next game instead of chasing the number back.

How it works

  • No setup. Install, enable, done. There are no settings or slash commands.
  • Stays hidden. The game refreshes the PvP UI constantly, for example when the scoreboard updates or rows scroll. HideMMR hooks the code that fills in these values, so the numbers stay hidden instead of flickering back.
  • Display only. HideMMR changes nothing about matchmaking, queues or your actual rating. It only hides text in the default UI.
  • Lightweight. No saved variables, no timers and no OnUpdate scripts. The addon only runs when the PvP frames load.
  • Any client language. It does not depend on localized text.

Examples

  • You lose a close Solo Shuffle round. Instead of a red "-18" you see the scoreboard with damage and healing, and you queue again with a clear head.
  • Your 2v2 partner asks you to play "one more". Your rating isn't staring at you from the PvP tab, so the decision is about whether you're still having fun.
  • Mid-match you open the scoreboard to check the enemy healer's output, and no MMR number tells you you're "supposed" to lose.

What is not hidden

  • Rating shown by other addons (for example arena frames or ladder trackers). Disable that feature in those addons if you want a fully number-free setup.
  • The rated Battleground and Blitz buttons on the PvP tab. Their columns in the score table are hidden.
  • Rating on the armory website or in third-party tools.

Compatibility

  • World of Warcraft Retail.
  • Works with the default Blizzard PvP UI.
