## Your friends, at a glance – wherever they are

**Hearthbound** is a journal for your friends, your guild and your community. Everyone who has the addon installed shares their character automatically – and you can look them up any time, even when they are offline.

### What you see for every character
- **Name** in class color, **level**, **race** and **class**
- **XP bar** with the exact percentage to the next level
- **Professions** with skill level and progress bar
- **Complete equipment** as icons with quality borders – hover any item for the real in-game tooltip, shift-click to link it in chat
- **Item level**, guild, realm and current zone
- **Online status** or "last online 2 h ago"

### How sharing works
There is no external server and no extra program. Hearthbound sends your own character data in-game, using the official addon message system:
- **Guild**
- **Party and raid**
- **Battle.net friends** playing the same game (also across realms)
- **Custom channel** (optional) – everyone who enters the same channel name shares data, perfect for streamer communities. The channel is hidden from your chat.

Every client also passes on the latest known state of other players. That means you see a friend's last level and gear even if you were never online at the same time – as long as someone in your group saw it.

### Features
- Journal window with search and "online only" filter
- Chat message (and optional sound) when a companion levels up
- 14 themes based on the classic expansions, from Classic to Midnight, using in-game frames
- Minimap button: left-click opens the journal, right-click opens the options
- Adjustable window size and opacity, automatic cleanup of old entries
- English and German interface (follows your game language)

### Commands
- `/hbound` or `/hearthbound` – open the journal
- `/hbound options` – open the options
- `/hbound send` – send your data right now

### Good to know
- Only players who installed Hearthbound are shown. Nobody shares data without knowing it.
- All received data is validated: no color codes, no broken links, limited lengths.
- Messages are throttled so they never strain the realm.
- While inside dungeons or raids, the game may block addon messages. Hearthbound catches up as soon as you are back outside.

**Hearthbound** ist ein Journal für deine Freunde, deine Gilde und deine Community. Wer das Add-on installiert hat, teilt seinen Charakter automatisch – und du kannst ihn jederzeit nachschlagen, auch wenn er offline ist.

### Was du von jedem Charakter siehst
- **Name** in Klassenfarbe, **Level**, **Rasse** und **Klasse**
- **EP-Balken** mit genauer Prozentangabe bis zum nächsten Level
- **Berufe** mit Skillstufe und Fortschrittsbalken
- **Komplette Ausrüstung** als Symbole mit Qualitätsrahmen – Maus drüber zeigt den echten Tooltip, Shift-Klick postet das Item in den Chat
- **Gegenstandsstufe**, Gilde, Realm und aktuelle Zone
- **Online-Status** oder „zuletzt online vor 2 Std.“

### So funktioniert das Teilen
Kein externer Server, kein Zusatzprogramm. Hearthbound verschickt die Daten im Spiel über das offizielle Add-on-Nachrichtensystem: Gilde, Gruppe und Raid, Battle.net-Freunde (auch realmübergreifend) und optional einen eigenen, im Chat ausgeblendeten Kanal.

Jeder Client gibt außerdem den letzten bekannten Stand anderer Spieler weiter. So siehst du Level und Ausrüstung eines Freundes, selbst wenn ihr nie gleichzeitig online wart.
