Hearth & Hamlet

Find your ideal housing plot, identify your guild subdivision, track House XP, and visit friends and guildmates.

Hearth & Hamlet

Find your place. Make yourself at home.

Hearth & Hamlet helps you find a home you love and make the most of the community around it. Know which housing zone and guild subdivision you’re in, discover available plots, follow your home’s leveling progress, and visit friends and guildmates—all from a warm, compact housing interface.

Know exactly where you are

Guild neighborhoods can have several subdivisions sharing the same neighborhood name. Hearth & Hamlet brings the neighborhood name and subdivision number together, helping you identify the instance you’re visiting and meet up in the right place.

  • See your housing zone, neighborhood, subdivision when available, and subzone.
  • View the current plot number, owner, and interior visitor-access information when WoW supplies it.
  • Identify Founder's Point or Razorwind Shores when expanding a house in WoW’s View Houses list.
  • See neighborhood and subdivision information in the minimap zone tooltip.

Find your ideal plot

Found an occupied plot you like? Find This Plot looks for the same plot number unowned in other neighborhoods of that housing zone.

  • Search suggested guild subdivisions, public neighborhoods, or both.
  • Set a minimum neighborhood occupancy from 0–90%; the default is 75%.
  • Include nearby available plots within an adjustable 50–200 yards.
  • See occupancy and the target plot’s claimed/unclaimed rate across the neighborhoods checked.
  • Visit returned plots directly from the search results.

Occupancy measures claimed plots, not players currently online. Claim-rate statistics describe the current search sample, not historical or realm-wide plot popularity.

Help your home grow

Track your selected own house’s level, House XP, and progress toward its next level. If you own two houses, click the house selector to switch between them; your selection is remembered.

The My Active Endeavor section stays tied to your account’s active Endeavor while you travel. It offers up to three activity suggestions using the next-completion House XP and remaining cycle allowance when those values are exposed by WoW.

  • Account for repeat-adjusted rewards when available.
  • Exclude dungeon, Mythic, raid, or PvP activities from suggestions.
  • Hide individual activities or collapse the section when you want a simpler view.

Make the most of your community

Browse Friends and Guildmates, search their names, load their available houses, and choose a house to visit.

  • Friendly Battle.net names make the list easier to browse.
  • Friends and guildmates have independent online and recent-activity filters.
  • Cross-faction visits remain subject to WoW’s house permissions and cooldowns.

Optional shortcuts integrate with two complementary housing addons:

These addons are optional, separately installed, and not bundled with Hearth & Hamlet. Each shortcut appears only when its addon is available; you can hide either shortcut in Social → Addon Integrations.

Make it your own

Choose whether Housing Details opens when you enter a neighborhood or closes when you leave. Adjust search and social preferences, show or hide interior-access information, and disable the minimap icon if you prefer another way to open the addon.

Settings are available through Escape → Options → AddOns → Hearth & Hamlet, or by right-clicking the minimap icon.

Compatibility and limits

Retail player housing only. Hearth & Hamlet uses information made available by WoW; unavailable data is identified rather than guessed.

  • Public-neighborhood searches cover neighborhoods returned by House Finder, not every neighborhood on a realm.
  • Subdivision information may need House Finder data to load before it can be displayed.
  • Vacant plots may require interacting with their For Sale sign before WoW supplies their current plot number. Nearby markers do not establish which plot you occupy.
  • Nearby distances are approximate and measured to map markers.
  • An unowned plot does not guarantee that your character is eligible to purchase it. Cross-faction ownership restrictions still apply.
  • XP suggestions depend on available reward data. Activity-category filters use English text and do not guarantee that every remaining activity can be completed solo.
  • House visits and purchases remain controlled by WoW. The addon does not bypass access rules or confirm purchases for you.

Installation

Install through CurseForge, or extract the HearthAndHamlet folder into your Retail Interface/AddOns directory. Restart WoW after a manual installation so its artwork loads.

If upgrading from the earlier HousingZoneIcons test builds, follow the README’s saved-settings migration instructions and remove the old addon folder from the active AddOns directory.

Credits and artwork

Created with AI-assisted development and original AI-assisted artwork. The cottage and corner illustrations are included in the addon; screenshots on this page show the actual in-game interface.

Optional companion integrations reference the independently maintained EmberHearth / Housing Log and Guestbook projects. Hearth & Hamlet does not include their code or artwork and is not an official Blizzard addon.
