Hearth Dice

Hearth Dice is a roleplay dice and character-sheet addon for World of Warcraft Retail. Created for the Hearth and Hammer guild on Argent Dawn, it helps players use a simple, stat-based ruleset during roleplay events and group encounters. Other players and guilds are welcome to use the same system.

The addon brings character setup, dice rolls, and roleplay health tracking into a compact window with familiar World of Warcraft visuals. Players can select an action and have their character’s modifiers included automatically.

Features

• Character sheet: Set Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Charisma, Perception, and Defence. Distribute five net attribute points and select separate bonuses for each attribute.
• Combat rolls: Make physical attacks, magical attacks, and defence rolls. Results include the die roll, modifiers, total, and applicable damage or critical result, helping the group follow each action.
• Attribute checks: Roll individual attributes for challenges and other situations during roleplay.
• Roles and non-combat support: Choose Guard, Craftsman, or Mender. Guards receive an Intercept announcement, while Menders have a healing action with limited charges. Non-combat characters can use Buff instead of Attack.
• Health tracking: Track your character’s roleplay HP, adjust it as events unfold, and restore HP and healing charges with Full Recovery. Maximum HP is calculated from Constitution.
• Armour and fatigue: Select an armour type for defence modifiers and adjust fatigue to reflect penalties during an encounter.
• Group announcements: Results appear in party, raid, or instance chat according to your group status. When playing solo, results appear only in your own chat window. Other players do not need the addon to read these announcements.
• Guided tutorial: A popup guide introduces the panels and highlights the controls. It can be skipped and replayed through the Help button.
• Saved character settings: Attributes, bonuses, role, armour, HP, healing charges, and window position are saved separately for each character.

Simple interface

The window has three tabs: Rolls for everyday actions, Character for attributes and bonuses, and Options for role and other settings. Health controls remain visible on every tab.

Hearth Dice uses fonts, textures, and controls supplied with World of Warcraft. No separate UI pack or additional addon is required.

Optional Total RP 3 integration

If Total RP 3 is installed, Hearth Dice can display your roleplay HP at the beginning of your Currently field while preserving the rest of your text. This feature can be disabled, and the character sheet and dice tools work without Total RP 3.

Getting started

Install and enable the addon, then type /hd or click its minimap button. The tutorial appears the first time you open the window.

• /hd — Open or close Hearth Dice.
• /hd actions — Open the Rolls tab.
• /hd character — Open the character sheet.
• /hd options — Open role and other settings.
• /hd tutorial — Replay the tutorial.
• /hd resetpos — Reset the window and minimap button positions.

Hearth Dice tracks roleplay values separately from normal WoW combat. Players apply HP changes, healing, buffs, and intercepted damage manually. Dice results are calculated by the addon and announced as chat messages.
