HCMobMarker

Automatically slaps a raid target icon on dangerous mobs the moment they cross your cursor — no macro, no keybind, no clicking. Built for Classic Hardcore, where knowing exactly which mob in a pack is the one that kills you matters.

What's new

Changelog

2.0

  • Added a full in-game settings window (/mm config) with three pages: Target Icons, Options, and About.
  • Target Icons page: all 8 mob slots with their assigned raid icon, editable via dropdown. Add and delete mobs directly in the window, plus a one-click "Clear All." Rows always display in a fixed priority order top to bottom — skull, cross, triangle, diamond, square, circle, moon, star.
  • Changes on the Target Icons page only take effect once you click Update — a reminder to that effect is shown on the page itself. Closing the window (Escape or the X) without updating discards any unsaved edits.
  • Options page: configure the click-to-mark hotkey — choose your modifier (None/Ctrl/Alt/Shift) and mouse button (Left/Right/Middle). Defaults to Ctrl + Left Click. Changes here apply immediately.
  • New hotkey marking: hold the configured modifier and click a mob to instantly mark it with the next unused icon (no chat command needed). Click an already-marked mob with the hotkey to remove it, same as /mm remove. If all 8 icons are already in use, the hotkey takes over Skull, evicting whoever previously held it.
  • About page: addon version, live game client version, author, copyright.
  • List capped at 8 mobs to match the 8 available raid target icons. Icon uniqueness is now enforced everywhere — chat commands, the settings window, and the hotkey — so no two mobs (or blank slots) can ever hold the same icon at once.

1.2

  • Mob list is now saved per character instead of account-wide. Each character builds and keeps their own list.

1.1

  • Icon argument in /mm add is now optional — omit it and the addon auto-picks the next free icon in priority order (skull, cross, triangle, diamond, square, circle). Moon and star are reserved for manual assignment only.
  • Added explicit /mm help command (previously only triggered as a fallback for unrecognized input).
  • Version number now shown on load and in /mm help.

1.0

  • Initial release.
  • Automatic mob marking on UPDATE_MOUSEOVER_UNIT.
  • In-game list management: add, remove, list, clear, on/off/toggle.
  • Persistent SavedVariables storage.
