Description:

HCManaTick is a class-aware power, safety, and survival addon for WoW Classic Era and Hardcore.

What started as a simple mana-tick timer has grown into an all-in-one tracker for Mana, Energy, and Rage, with accurate server-synced tick timing, 5-second rule tracking, rogue energy tracking, warrior rage prediction, swing timers, Hardcore safety alerts, crucial item detection, action-bar highlights, and a polished in-game options panel.

Everything is controlled by toggles, so you can keep the full survival toolkit enabled or strip it back down to a simple mana-tick timer.

HCManaTick automatically detects your class and adapts the tracker to the power resource you actually use:

Mana users — Priest, Mage, Warlock, Druid, Hunter, Paladin, and Shaman — get accurate 2-second mana-tick timing synced to real passive regeneration, 5-second rule tracking, MP/Tick display, and next-mana readout.

Rogues get a 2-second energy-tick timer, Adrenaline Rush detection, and energy-rate display.

Warriors get rage tracking, rage-gain rate, ability-cost prediction, and a swing-timer overlay for main-hand and off-hand weapons.

On top of the tracker, HCManaTick adds a Hardcore-focused safety system that helps you notice danger before it kills you, plus an item advisor that points directly at the best emergency button to press.

Power Tracker

Class-Aware Profile:
Automatically selects Mana, Energy, or Rage tracking based on your class.

Accurate Tick Timing:
Syncs to the actual server tick instead of using a static 2-second estimate.

5-Second Rule Tracking:
Tracks the classic mana 5-second rule after spending mana.

Rage Prediction:
Shows the rage you would have after using your last ability. The addon learns rage costs from observed rage drops and comes pre-seeded with common Warrior costs.

Energy Tick + Adrenaline Rush Tracking:
Tracks Rogue energy ticks and detects Adrenaline Rush state.

Status Text:
Displays useful states such as combat, drinking, ghost/dead, and adrenaline.

Sound Alerts:

Hold Shift to drag the tracker frame, press End to recenter it, or lock it through the options panel.

Tiered HP Detection:
Configurable HP thresholds for Warning, Danger, and Critical states.

Full-Screen Flash Overlay:
Screen flashes by severity: yellow, orange, or red.

Audio Cues:
Plays a sound on each tier transition, with accelerating heartbeat alerts at Danger and Critical levels.

Critical Chat Warning:
Can automatically warn party, raid, or say chat when you hit Critical HP. Rate-limited to prevent spam.

Combat Stingers:
Optional combat-engage and disengage sounds.

PvP Flag Warning:
Alerts once when you become PvP flagged.

Group Member Alerts:
Warns for low HP, disconnects, and deaths in your group.

Floating Combat Text Support:
Forces enableFloatingCombatText on when enabled, matching Safeguard-style behavior.

Crucial Items + Action-Bar Pointer

50+ Crucial Item Catalogue:
Tracks important survival items across multiple categories:

Emergency:
Healthstone, Goblin Sapper Charge, Limited Invulnerability Potion, and more.

Healing:
Health potions of every rank, Major Healthstone, and other healing items.

Mana:
Major Mana Potion, Demonic Rune, Dark Rune, and similar items, with a self-damage filter so dangerous mana items are not suggested when they could kill you.

Utility:
Stoneshield Potion, Living Action Potion, Free Action Potion, and other survival tools.

Bandages:
Suggested only when out of combat.

Travel:
Hearthstone and similar escape/travel items.

Action-Bar Glow:
Highlights any action-bar button containing a crucial item. Supports Blizzard bars, Bartender4, Dominos, ElvUI, pet bars, and bonus bars.

“USE THIS ▼” Pointer:
During Safety tier events, the addon points directly at the highest-priority recommended button.

Tier-Matched Suggestions:
Items are recommended based on the situation. For example, a Stoneshield is not suggested at 10% HP, and a Living Action Potion is not suggested at 45% HP.

Swing Timer

For Rage profile / Warriors.

Main-Hand Bar:
Displays a blue swing timer bar for your main-hand weapon.

Off-Hand Bar:
Automatically detects off-hand weapons and shows a slimmer gold off-hand bar when dual-wielding.

Spark Texture:
A spark slides along the leading edge of the swing bar.

Speed-Change Rescaling:
Preserves swing progress when weapon speed changes from effects like Crusader procs, Slam haste buffs, and similar effects.

Minimap

LibDBIcon-1.0 Support:
Uses LibDBIcon when installed.

Fallback Minimap Button:
If LibDBIcon is not installed, HCManaTick uses its own draggable minimap button.

Click Bindings:
Left Click opens options.
Shift + Left Click prints crucial inventory.
Right Click toggles Safety Measures.
Middle Click fires a test Critical pulse.

Live Tooltip:
Shows Safety status, Crucial-highlight status, and current alert tier.

Uses a fixed-size scrollable sound picker instead of Blizzard’s overflowing dropdown menu.

Migrations from older versions run automatically, including v1 mana-tick-only, v3.3 minimap, and v3.5 swing-timer settings. Existing settings are preserved.

Author Note:

The original 2.x addon was a small mana-tick timer. Version 3 was rewritten to be class-aware, then expanded with Safety Measures, Crucial item tracking, action-bar glow, a scrollable options panel, minimap support, LibDBIcon support, swing timers, off-hand swing display, and the action-bar pointer arrow.

Every major feature has a master toggle, so you can use HCManaTick as a full Hardcore survival addon or reduce it back to a simple mana-tick tracker.
