1.3.0
What's new
Hated Sequencer
1.3.0
- New look: Hated Sequencer now has the sleek Hated Gaming style, with a slim header, dark panels, crisp icon buttons and thin scrollbars.
- The editor window is much smaller by default (700 x 440) and can now be shrunk down to 560 x 340, so it is easier to keep open while you play. Your window size is reset once to the new default; resize it again any time.
- Step rows are more compact, with icon buttons for move, indent, duplicate and delete, so more of your sequence fits on screen.
- Collapsed editor sections now show a short summary (class and spec, keys, mode), so you can keep them closed and still see the settings.
- New Options window (the gear in the header, or /hsq options) with General, Cast Feed and Profiles tabs. Switch, create, copy, reset and delete profiles right there.
- New How to use guide (/hsq howto, or the button in Options): eight short pages with Show me buttons that open the right window and point at the control. New players see it once on first login.
- Every new line is translated into all ten game languages.
1.2.5
- Now compatible with WoW Forever.
1.2.4
- New per-step option "Hold while channeling" (in a macro step's Adv panel). After that step fires, presses are ignored and the step counter stays put until the channel it started ends, so the sequence stops cutting an Evoker empowered spell (Fire Breath, Eternity Surge) short. It holds on any channel, so leave it off for a filler channel like Disintegrate that you want to clip.
1.2.3
- New sequences now start in Priority mode instead of Sequential, and Priority is now first in the Execution mode dropdown. Existing sequences keep whatever mode they were saved with.
- Fixed a taint error (MathUtil "secret number value") that could spam the error frame when picking an option in one of the editor dropdowns on 12.0. The pick now applies a frame later so Blizzard's menu closes on a clean stack.
1.2.2
- Reworded the Execution mode tooltip.
1.2.1
- Machine-translated baselines added for German, French, Spanish (EU), Russian and Simplified Chinese. These are a starting point -- contributor corrections on CurseForge override them per string.
1.2.0
- Every player-facing string now routes through a locale file and the addon is wired for translation on CurseForge. English is unchanged; other languages fall back to English until contributors fill them in.
1.1.2
- Fixed the Steps editor losing a step's controls -- the drag handle, the type dropdown, and the move / duplicate / delete buttons -- after that step was dragged to a new position.
1.1.1
- The keybind capture now recognises the mouse wheel and mouse buttons 3, 4
and 5, each with Shift / Ctrl / Alt -- bind a sequence to
MOUSEWHEELUP,BUTTON4, and so on, the same as any key.
1.1.0
- New: Cast Feed. An optional on-screen strip of the spells you have just cast, spaced by the real time between them -- one global cooldown of delay reads as one icon-width of gap, an instant weave sits flush against the last icon, a real pause opens a visible space. New icons appear at the centre of the strip and drift to the left as they age out.
- Purely cosmetic. It reads your own casts off a standard event and never touches secure state, so it has no effect on sequences or combat.
- Off by default. Turn it on with
/hsq castfeed, drag it into place with/hsq castfeed unlock, and tune size, count, direction, spawn point and speed in/hsq config. Ctrl+Alt+click an icon to hide that spell;/hsq castfeed resetrestores the defaults.
1.0.2
- Stopped an
ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKEDwarning when a key was pressed with the editor open during combat. Editor shortcuts and keybind capture behave the same; keybind capture now waits until you are out of combat.
1.0.1
- Fixed the
Unrecognized XML: Bindingwarnings that showed on login. The key bindings themselves were never affected.
1.0.0 - First Release
Turn a whole rotation into one button. Hated Sequencer bundles your cast macros, pauses, and nested loops into a single sequence that steps forward every time you press its key. Build it in a real visual editor, bind it per class, and share it as a string.
What It Does
A single key runs the whole thing
- Every sequence gets its own keybind. Press it, the next step fires. Press it again, the step after that.
- Ways to step: Sequential (walk 1..N and stop), Loop (wrap forever), Priority (weights the earliest steps -- fires 1, then 1-2, then 1-2-3, and repeats), and Random.
- Runs from a secure button, so it keeps working in combat.
A visual editor, not a text file
- Left panel: all your sequences, grouped by class, with a class / spec / role filter and a live keybind readout. Flip to the Keybinds tab to set binds for every sequence at once.
- Right panel: collapsible sections for Details, Applies To, Keybinds, Execution, Pre / Post Macro, Variables, and Steps.
Steps and loops
- Macro steps hold real macro text,
[conditionals]and all. - Loop blocks repeat their child steps a set number of times, in order or shuffled.
- Pause steps wait (a number of presses, or real seconds).
- Embed pulls another whole sequence in at that point.
- Reset jumps the pointer back to step 1.
- Turn any step off with its checkbox to test a change without deleting it.
- Drag the handle to reorder, or use the indent / outdent arrows to move a step into or out of the loop above it.
Per-class keybinds and "applies to"
- One sequence, different keys per class:
MAGE = SHIFT-1, everything elseF. It binds the right one automatically on the character you log in on. - Gate a sequence to a class, a spec, and even a named talent loadout, so it only binds when it actually fits.
Variables
- Define
~st~ = [@mouseover,harm][]once, then write/cast ~st~ Spellnamein every step. Change the prefix in one place.
Macro conditionals and Variables reference, built in
- Click Conditionals on the Steps toolbar (or
/hsq ref) for a searchable cheat sheet: every macro[conditional]the game understands and how variables work, each with an example.
Drag spells straight in
- Drag an ability out of your spellbook onto a macro box or the Steps
panel, exactly like dropping it on an action bar. It writes the
/castline for you. - Type
/cast Frin a macro box and pick from an autocomplete list of spells you actually know. - New sequences borrow their icon from the first spell they cast until you set one yourself.
Import, export, and copy in
- Export any sequence to a string and hand it to a friend.
- Import a string someone gave you.
- Copy In reads sequences already saved on your character from a supported macro addon and pulls them across in one click, translating the steps, loops, and spell IDs into Hated Sequencer's format.
Preview what actually fires
- The Preview button shows the fully compiled macro list: loops unrolled, embeds spliced, variables substituted. What you see is what the key will do.
Undo, redo, save
Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Yper sequence.Ctrl+Sor the Save button to write it out (edits also auto-save shortly after you stop typing).
How to Use It
/hsqopens the editor.- New on the left panel makes a sequence. Give it a name and, if you like, restrict it to a class / spec.
- In Steps, add Macro steps and fill in the
/castlines (or drag spells in). Wrap a group in a Loop, drop in a Pause. - In Keybinds, click the slot and press the key you want. Set a different key per class if you play more than one.
- Save. Press your key in the world and the sequence steps forward.

Heads Up
- In combat the sequence can only step forward or wrap -- that part is
secure. Anything that has to react on the press itself belongs in a
[conditional]in the macro text, the same limit any macro has. - The editor window does not close on Escape, so you can leave it open
while you drag spells out of the spellbook. Close it with its X button
or
/hsq.
