Guild Finder Bulletin Board
Find a guild, or find your next raider, without spamming trade chat.
Guild Finder Bulletin Board is a community listing board built into the game. Guilds post what they’re recruiting for, and players post what they’re looking for. The addon ranks every listing by how well it matches you, so the best fits are at the top.
Supports WoW Classic Era, Anniversary and WoW Forever (Classic+), including the new first and last character names.
Two boards, one window
The window has two tabs on the side:
- Looking for Guild shows every guild that is recruiting, ranked by how well each fits what you want.
- Guild Recruiting shows every player looking for a guild, ranked by how well each fits what your guild needs.
Match percentage in parse colors
Set your criteria once in Settings. Every listing then gets a match score, shown in the same colors as Warcraft Logs parses and used as the border of each card:
| Match | Color |
|---|---|
| 100% | Gold |
| 99% | Pink |
| 95–98% | Orange |
| 75–94% | Purple |
| 50–74% | Blue |
| 25–49% | Green |
| 0–24% | Gray |
What you can list
Guilds can post:
- Guild name, faction and realm
- Classes and specs needed, shown as talent-tree icons
- Raid schedule (days and times)
- Guild type and playstyle tags
- Loot system
- Notes
- Links: Discord, Forever Community guild page and Warcraft Logs (all optional)
Players can post:
- Class and spec
- Playstyle and the days you’re available
- Loot preferences
- Notes
- Warcraft Logs link (optional)
Features
- Match scoring against your own criteria, with listings ranked best first.
- One-click whisper to a listing’s contact, which works with two-part names.
- Hide button for people or guilds you’ve already talked to and ruled out. You can show hidden listings again at any time.
- Duplicate collapsing: if several officers post for the same guild, it shows as one card with an Officers button listing everyone you can contact.
- Native-style window that looks like the rest of the Blizzard UI, with side tabs and a minimap button.
- Link boxes for Discord, Community and Logs links, with a reminder to verify addresses before opening them. In-game addons can’t open web pages, so you copy the link and paste it into your browser.
- Localized in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
How it works
Listings travel over a dedicated chat channel named guildfinderboard. The addon joins it for you and keeps it out of your chat tabs. Nothing leaves the game, there are no external servers, and no one needs to run anything besides the addon.
Safeguards in the addon:
- A listing can only be updated or removed by the player who posted it.
- Each player is limited in how many listings they can post.
- Incoming messages are rate-limited and checked, and malformed data is dropped.
- Links must look like web addresses to be shown. Always check a link before you open it.
Getting started
- Type /gfb or click the minimap button.
- Open Settings and fill in either Guild Recruiting or Looking For Guild.
- Post your listing and browse the board.
Slash commands: /gfb toggles the window, and /gfb diag prints diagnostics for bug reports.
