GroupScout Forever

GroupScout A lean, from-scratch rewrite inspired by Spy's window/list UI: instead of tracking nearby hostile players, it lists nearby SAME-faction players who aren't already in your group, so you can click a name to invite them.

Detection is intentionally simple and robust rather than exhaustive: it watches your target, your mouseover, and nearby nameplates. Spy's combat-log-based detection and name-plate-from-GUID resolution were left out on purpose -- they add a lot of complexity for edge cases that don't matter much for "who's standing near me".

Left Click Minimap Icon to open addon, right click mini map Icon to load options (colour the window border and set transparency)

/gscout - Toggle the tracking window 

/gscout show - Show the window

/gscout hide - Hide the window

/gscout toggle - Toggle scanning state (ON/OFF)

/gscout message - Set custom whisper text

/gscout reset - Clear the session ignore list

The default whisper message is "Hey! I see you're already in a group. Mind passing me an invite if you have room?"

Whisper functionality is a bit hit or miss due to surnames and without having 3 beta accounts I can't test it properly, what should happen is the following. By left clicking a player from the GScout Window it should send them a ninja invite to a group, if that player is already in a group the server will immediately send back a system message "Player is already in a group" the GScout addon should intercept that system message instantly and the 'row' of that player should turn blue and the text will changed to [Grouped], it should also automatically fire either the default or custom whisper message to them right then and there. Click their name a second time will manually re-whisper them.
