Description

Questie tells you a quest item drops at 38%. Grindmark tells you what that costs.

5/6 Thorny Constrictor Vine [38%] 23/≈16 kills, ≈3 left

Three numbers, three different questions:

  • 23 — what you have actually killed since accepting the quest. A fact, so no marker.
  • ≈16 — what the whole objective was ever going to cost. Moves only when Questie's drop data does, so it is the yardstick. 23 against ≈16 is visibly bad luck.
  • ≈3 left — what is still ahead. The only one that moves as you loot.

The remainder is not total minus killed. Every pull is an independent roll — 23 kills buys you nothing toward the next drop. Subtracting would print "0 left" at exactly the moment you most need the truth.

Grindmark modifies no Questie files. It wraps one public function, so NPC, item, object and quest-finisher tooltips are all covered at once.

Requirements

Questie, with tooltip drop rates enabled. Without them there is no percentage to read and Grindmark shows nothing.

Usage

/grindmark or /grind toggles it off and on.

Notes

  • The verb follows the source: mobs are kills, chests and ore veins are loots, bag items are drops.
  • The kill tally counts mobs you or your pet damaged. In a party, if someone else kills and you loot, the tally runs low. The estimate is unaffected.
  • Localised for enUS, deDE, esES, esMX, frFR, ptBR, ruRU, koKR, zhCN, zhTW.
