GRIMBEATER

GrimMeter has evolved into GrimBeater.

GrimBeater is a lightweight, ghost-themed party and raid healing-frame addon with secure click-casting, class-aware status information, racing combat ghosts, and an integrated companion combat meter for World of Warcraft Classic: Mists of Pandaria.

Existing GrimMeter users receive GrimBeater as a normal update through this same CurseForge project. GrimBeater is actively maintained and will continue receiving updates, improvements, bug fixes, performance optimizations, and new features.

PARTY AND RAID HEALTH FRAMES

• Clear health-only frames use GrimBeater purple for current health and ghost green for missing health, with class-colored player names.
• Every group member has a compact resource orb showing mana, rage, energy, focus, runic power, or their other current resource in Blizzard's familiar color. The orb drains as the resource is spent.
• Party frames automatically become compact square raid tiles in larger raids and grow with the live roster up to 40 players.
• Raid tiles include Blizzard-style tank, healer, and damage role icons. Tanks and healers are placed first across the upper area, with DPS following in the compact grid.
• Range fading, targeting feedback, health updates, role sorting, and secure mouse interaction remain active in both party and raid layouts.
• Blizzard's built-in party and raid frames are left untouched.

SECURE CLICK-CASTING

• Configure nine click bindings: Left, Middle, and Right Click, plus Shift and Ctrl versions of all three.
• Drag spells into compact binding slots and use the same bindings directly on GrimBeater health frames.
• Bindings explicitly target the assigned living friendly unit, preventing dead or out-of-range rows from falling back to accidental self-casts.
• Out of combat, ordinary left-clicking a dead group member automatically casts your known class resurrection spell when available.
• The Buff button securely casts your character's known group buff for the party or raid.
• Settings can remain accessible during combat. Changes that WoW's secure-frame combat lockdown cannot apply immediately are safely queued and applied when combat ends.

DISPELS, SHIELDS, HOTS, AND DEFENSIVE COOLDOWNS

• A health frame changes color only for a harmful effect your current class can personally dispel: curse, magic, poison, or disease.
• Helpful effects deliberately placed on a player—such as Power Word: Shield, Prayer of Mending, Renew, Earth Shield, Sacred Shield, Cenarion Ward, and external defensive cooldowns such as Pain Suppression—appear as tiny borderless status icons.
• Helpful icons show charges or stacks when relevant and add a small single-digit duration countdown only from nine seconds downward.
• Passive or automatically generated absorbs and healing effects are filtered out to keep the frames clean.
• Harmful debuff icons stay hidden; GrimBeater uses the class-aware health-frame color instead.

GHOST RACES AND WINNERS

• During combat, role ghosts race clockwise around GrimBeater's outer ghost-green border.
• A player's ghost fades in and begins racing only after that player records real damage or effective healing.
• Race speed and final placement follow the performance view selected in GrimMeter: DPS, total damage, or effective healing.
• The current leader carries a direction-aware ember trail.
• When combat finishes and trailing effects settle, racers fade out and the top three winners fade into a centered podium across the top, complete with class-colored names, ranked medal accents, placement-based glows, and fireworks.
• Tank, damage, and healer ghosts have distinct role-themed armor and colors.
• The race works with the active group size, from a small party through a full raid.

INTEGRATED GRIMMETER

• GrimMeter is a separate movable companion window for ranked DPS, total damage, and effective healing.
• Right-click the GrimBeater title to open GrimMeter, switch to only GrimMeter, or restore the preferred window combination. Right-click GrimMeter to bring GrimBeater back or close the meter while leaving GrimBeater visible.
• Metric buttons change the ranking view without resetting the current fight. Right-click a metric to report its ranking to chat.
• GrimMeter follows the same ghost-themed styling and includes its own racing role ghosts with player names progressively revealed behind them.
• The meter credits observed pets and summoned guardians to their owners.
• Its timer opens the five most recent completed encounters. Restore an encounter to review its duration and rankings, then return to the live fight without interrupting combat recording.
• Encounter history, window state, position, and width are remembered per character.

WINDOWS AND CUSTOMIZATION

• Move GrimBeater and GrimMeter independently, including during combat, unless Lock is enabled.
• Width and Bar Height controls resize the party layout and its outer window.
• Lock prevents dragging, Hide hides the complete addon, and /gb show restores it.
• The compact header contains matching GrimBeater, Buff, and Timer buttons and automatically reflows cleanly at narrow widths.
• GrimBeater and its effects stay behind normal Blizzard panels such as the Spellbook and Mail.
• Positions, layout choices, settings, click bindings, meter state, and encounter data persist per character.

GRIMBUTTONS ADDON-BUTTON COLLECTION

• Enable Collect Addon Buttons to move supported minimap addon buttons into an unframed strip attached to GrimBeater Settings.
• Collected buttons remain visible, clickable, and able to show their normal tooltips.
• Drag any collected addon button to move the entire collection.
• Snap the collected addon buttons to any of nine docking positions around the GrimBeater Settings window: left, center, or right across the top; left, center, or right across the bottom; or top, center, or bottom on either the left or right side. Side positions automatically switch the collection into vertical columns.
• Turning the option off returns every collected button to its original minimap position.
• Clicking a collected addon button lowers GrimBeater Settings so that addon's window opens in front.

AUTO SELL

• Optional Auto Sell settings are available separately for Epic, Rare, Uncommon, Common, and Poor items.
• Every quality is off by default.
• Enabled qualities sell eligible bag items with a vendor value when a merchant opens while leaving equipped gear alone.

COMPATIBILITY AND DESIGN

GrimBeater is designed specifically for WoW Classic: Mists of Pandaria and has no external addon dependencies. The goal is to combine the information and controls players actually need with a compact, playful interface—without becoming a heavyweight setup project.
