GoldSage — Daily Gold Advisor
GoldSage is a comprehensive auction house intelligence addon for World of Warcraft: Midnight. Rather than replacing TradeSkillMaster or Auctionator, it sits on top of them — reading their scan data and turning raw price numbers into clear, prioritized daily recommendations. Open it once a day, see exactly what to sell, what to craft, and what to farm.
What It Does
Most gold-making addons give you data. GoldSage gives you decisions. It pulls market prices, regional sale rates, and your cached profession recipes into a unified scoring engine, then ranks everything by estimated daily gold. The item at the top of the list is the one you should be acting on right now.
Core Features
Three-Tab Recommendation Dashboard The main window is organized into three tabs that cover every angle of gold-making:
- Top Sellers — Scans your bags and ranks every item by daily gold potential, factoring in current AH price, how often it actually sells, and how many you're carrying. Items highlighted in green are selling above the regional average on your realm; red means your market is compressed compared to other realms.
- Craft & Post — Cross-references every recipe you know against current material costs and sell prices, calculating net profit after the AH cut. Sorted by estimated daily profit so the best opportunities always surface first. Covers all crafting professions — Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Inscription, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, and Tailoring.
- Gather & Post — Identifies which gathering materials (ore, herbs, leather, fish, cloth, gems) are in highest demand based on what your cached recipes actually need, then ranks them by market price and sale velocity. Tells you which raw materials to prioritize on your next farming run.
Realm vs. Region Analysis Every item in all three tabs includes a "vs Region" column showing how your realm's price compares to the regional market average. A green +23% means your realm pays above average — a strong signal to post aggressively. A red -18% means your market is underperforming regionally, so margins are tighter than they could be. Requires TSM for regional data; shows a dash gracefully if only Auctionator is installed.
Price Trend Arrows GoldSage tracks price history every time you refresh, building a 14-day rolling database. After a few days of use, trend arrows (↑ ↓ →) appear next to prices in all tabs, showing whether each item's price is rising, falling, or holding steady compared to its 3-day average. A fast-rising herb combined with a high sale rate is a very different opportunity than one that's been falling all week.
Craft Queue
The fourth tab functions as a personal crafting planner. Click the green + button on any row in the Craft & Post tab to add it to your queue — Shift+Click to add five at once. The queue tab then shows:
- All queued crafts with quantity controls (increase, decrease, or remove individual items)
- A consolidated Materials Needed section that adds up every reagent across every queued craft into a single shopping list, with quantities and total cost
- Estimated total profit for the full queue
- A Shopping List export button that generates a plain-text copy-paste summary you can use to buy out materials efficiently
Price Alerts
Right-click any item row in any tab to set a price alert. Choose a gold threshold and whether you want to be notified when the price drops below it (buy signal) or rises above it (sell signal). When an alert fires, GoldSage plays a sound, prints a message to chat, and shows an animated toast notification in the corner of your screen. Alerts persist across sessions and can be managed from the Settings panel. A small bell icon marks any item row that already has an active alert.
Farming Mode — Real-Time Loot Popup
Toggle with /gs farm. While farming mode is active, GoldSage watches your bags for new items and shows a small popup within seconds of anything valuable landing in your inventory. Each popup displays:
- Item name in quality color (white, green, blue, purple, orange) with icon
- AH market value — total for the stack, plus per-item if you picked up multiples
- Sale rate and realm vs. region delta
- A suggested AH stack size for common gathering materials (e.g. "Post in stacks of 20" for ore and herbs)
- A gold countdown bar that drains as the popup counts down to auto-dismiss
Items worth more than your configured Jackpot Threshold trigger a special gold border flash animation and a fanfare sound so you never miss a rare or high-value drop.
A persistent Session Bar sits above the popup and tracks your running total value and live gold-per-hour estimate for the session. Hover it for a full breakdown. Right-click it to end the session and print a summary to chat.
Settings Panel
The settings panel (opened via the Settings button or /gs settings) is organized into three tabs:
General — Minimum craft profit threshold, minimum sale rate filter, max results per tab, and AH cut percentage. Toggles for price alerts, trend arrows, and auto-refresh when the Auction House opens.
Farming — Minimum item value for loot popups, popup auto-dismiss duration, jackpot gold threshold, minimum item quality filter (all the way from grey up to epic+), toggles for vendor-value fallback, loot sounds, jackpot flash, and value-sorted queue. Position reset buttons for both the popup and session bar.
Alerts — A live list of all active price alerts with enable/disable toggles and individual remove buttons. A "Clear All" button to wipe the slate.
Getting Started
- Install GoldSage and enable it at the character select screen
- Make sure TradeSkillMaster (recommended) or Auctionator is installed with a recent AH scan
- Log in and open each of your profession windows — GoldSage caches your recipes automatically each time you open one

Dependencies
| Addon | Role |
|---|---|
| TradeSkillMaster (recommended) | Provides DBMarket, DBRegionMarketAvg, DBRegionSaleRate — enables trend arrows, realm comparison, and the most accurate profit calculations |
| Auctionator (fallback) | Provides current AH buyout prices from manual scans — fully functional without TSM, though realm comparison and trend data require TSM |
GoldSage works with either addon or both simultaneously, always preferring TSM data when available.
Tips
- Run a fresh AH scan in TSM or Auctionator before opening GoldSage for the most accurate numbers
- The Craft & Post tab is most valuable right after weekly reset when demand spikes
- If the Crafts tab shows nothing, try
/gs set minprofit 10— prices on high-competition realms can compress margins significantly - Open your alts' profession windows while GoldSage is loaded to cache those recipes too, even if you don't actively play those characters
- The Gather & Post tab prioritizes materials used by the most recipes — these tend to be the safest and most consistent AH flips regardless of the weekly meta
