GoldChallenge
Track your gold farming runs in real-time — solo, in party, or across separate instances with friends.
GoldChallenge monitors every item you loot and every gold coin that hits your bags during a session. It values items using TSM (with vendor price fallback), displays a live leaderboard, and lets you compete with others even when you're each in your own instance of a dungeon.
Features
- Real-time gold & item tracking — looted items are priced via TSM (dbminbuyout → dbmarket → regionmarketavg) with automatic vendor price fallback
- Live leaderboard — see who's winning the gold run at a glance, sorted by total value
- Party mode — start a challenge as host, party members auto-join and their loot syncs to your leaderboard
- Cross-instance whisper mode — players outside your party (e.g. each in their own Razorfen Downs instance) can join via the in-game addon channel without any visible chat spam
- Compact mini-mode — collapse the window to just the 3 stat banners, recent loots, and top-3 leaderboard
- Recent loots list — last 5 looted items with their values
- Invite system — invite players to your party directly from the addon window
- TSM optional — works without TSM installed, falls back to vendor sell price
How to Use
Solo / Party
- Open the window with
/gchal - Click START — if you're in a party, you automatically become the host and all party members are notified
- Loot items and farm gold — everything is tracked automatically
- Click STOP when done
Cross-instance (e.g. solo dungeon runs with friends)
Host:
- Click START (or
/gchal host) - Share your character name with participants
Each participant:
- Open the window with
/gchal - Type the host's name in the JOIN SESSION box and click Join
- The addon connects silently via whisper — no chat spam
- Track your own loot normally, scores sync to the host's leaderboard in real-time

Typical flow:
/gchal host— open a lobby, wait for friends to join via/gchal join YourName/gchal start— everyone's timer begins simultaneously/gchal stop— end the challenge and broadcast the final leaderboard
Requirements
- World of Warcraft Retail (The War Within / latest patch)
- TSM (TradeSkillMaster) — optional, recommended for accurate item pricing
Notes
- Item prices are pulled in this priority: TSM minimum buyout → TSM 14-day market average → TSM region average → vendor sell price
- Gold tracking counts only incoming gold (loots, quest rewards) — repairs and purchases are excluded
- The leaderboard resets with each new session
