v1.2.2

Changelog
1.2.2
Teaching a gather spell
- Fixed:
/glean learncould latch onto the wrong spell. It took whatever succeeded next after you ran it, and some things that aren't gathers succeed — looting a fish species you've never caught fires a hidden 100ms effect, and that could be recorded as your fishing spell. Once it was, every new species you caught dropped a phantom fishing node wherever you were standing. - Learning now needs two things to agree: you cast it, and it produced loot. A gather always opens a loot window; nothing else does. If it isn't satisfied it keeps waiting, so a bad guess costs nothing and the next real gather still teaches it.
- New:
/glean forget. On its own it lists every spell you've taught, with names. With a spell ID it removes one — for undoing a bad teach from before this fix.
Coiled Isle
- Coin-Eye Skully's location corrected. Both published guides had it wrong in different directions; this is the in-game position.
- Szarith the Fanged is underground, in the Underbelly of the Vaults of Atal'Utek. The pin stays on the surface map because that's where you go in — a pin on the interior map is invisible until you're already there.
- Farthik the Plunderer needs a treasure chest interacted with to spawn. No guide records this, so standing on the coordinate and seeing nothing looked like bad data.
1.2.1
Coiled Isle (patch 12.1)
- All 12 Coiled Isle rares are bundled, so they pin and route from your first visit rather than waiting to be met one at a time.
- Everything else in the new zone works already — Gleaner records herbs, ore, fishing pools, treasure and lumber wherever you gather them, and there was never anything zone-specific to add for that.
Under the hood
- Bundled zone data can now be keyed by map ID as well as zone name. Names have to be guessed exactly right or the lookup quietly finds nothing and the zone just looks empty; a map ID cannot be wrong. Coiled Isle uses one, and the existing zones are unchanged.
1.2.0
Pin tooltips (new)
- Hover any pin on the world map and it tells you what it is — the node type, or the rare's name — along with whether you're standing on the spot, and its coordinates.
- Wording stays honest about what's actually known: "you're on this spot" means you're near a recorded location, not that something is standing there. Only a node you emptied yourself, or a rare you've already killed this reset, is genuinely known to be gone.
The radar HUD has been removed
/glean hudis gone. It drew Gleaner's recorded nodes on a field of its own, which meant it could never show the live nodes, mailboxes and rare markers that Blizzard's engine draws — the very things a farming HUD is wanted for. It looked like it should, which made it misleading rather than merely limited.- The live HUD (
/glean live) does that job properly, because it borrows your real minimap: live blips and all, at full size, with your route, pins and trail drawn over the top. - The breadcrumb trail moved with it — it now draws on the minimap and the live HUD, so nothing is lost. Its colour and thickness settings still apply.
- Gone with it: the radius, background dimming and spin settings, the POI toggle, the Farming Radar HUD keybind, and
/glean dim,/glean spin,/glean poi.
Route line
- A separate toggle for each surface — minimap and live HUD, radar HUD, and world map. Turn all three off to follow the nav arrow alone with pins but no line. Previously the radar HUD ignored the setting entirely and the world map had no toggle at all.
- Fixed: the route line vanishing while you fly. Passing over an outpost, cave mouth or quest hub that has its own map made Gleaner think you'd left the zone, so the minimap and HUD dropped the line until you flew clear. The world map was unaffected, which is why it looked so strange.
Live HUD
- Fixed: coordinates missing. The minimap's own coordinate readout was being hidden along with the terrain when the live HUD faded it. It's now kept visible, as it was before.
Rares
- Fixed: learning rares from their vignettes never actually worked. Gleaner is meant to record a rare's location the first time you meet it in a zone the bundled data doesn't cover. A bug in how the position was read meant the coordinates were silently discarded every time, so nothing was ever learned. It works now.
Under the hood
- Route stops are now resolved against the route's own map rather than whichever sub-map you happen to be standing in, so lines and the nav arrow stay correct in outposts and caves.
1.1.2
Live HUD
- Escape closes the live HUD and puts your normal minimap back. Press it again and you get the game menu, exactly as before.
- The live HUD gets out of the way in combat. It fades when a fight starts, and hands your minimap back when the fight ends. The game blocks addons from moving the minimap during combat, so it can't return until the fight is over.
Minimap
- The N/E/S/W markers on the detection ring now take a font and a weight (Normal, Bold or Heavy), alongside the colour and size they already had. LibSharedMedia fonts appear in the list if any addon on your system provides it.
- The gold cardinal ring now scales out to the edge of the map instead of sitting inside it at larger map sizes, with a size slider to tune it.
Packaging
PARKING-LOT.md(development notes) no longer ships inside the released zip.
1.1.1
Minimap pins
- Minimap pins are now hollow rings instead of solid icons, so Blizzard's own node blip shows through the center instead of being covered.
- Mining is copper-orange instead of grey, so it stands out from rock.
Options window
- Cleaner layout: the sprawling rows of buttons for anchors, shape, and click actions are single dropdowns now.
- Teal/grey look sampled from the addon icon, with outlined button text that stays crisp at a low UI scale.
- New Options window section: window scale, font (any built-in or LibSharedMedia font, applied live), and background colour + opacity.
- Expressway font is bundled and used for the window by default.
1.1.0
Minimap takeover (new)
- Gleaner can now take over your minimap, so it's one addon for gathering and your map. Off by default — turn it on in the Minimap tab of the options (and disable any other minimap addon first).
- Shape (square or round), size, scale, drag-to-move and lock.
- An optional coloured border around the map.
- Custom zone name, clock, and coordinates, each with its own font, size, colour, and position. Fonts include every one your other addons register through LibSharedMedia, if you have it.
- Minimap buttons — Blizzard's and third-party addon buttons — can be resized, dragged where you want, and set to Show, show on Hover, or Hide, from a visibility grid.
- Mouse-wheel zoom and auto zoom-out; configurable right- and middle-click actions.
Options
- The options window now has Gleaner and Minimap tabs.
- A preset button for every gathering mode, not just a few.
Other
- The minimap icon's right-click opens the options window, and it sits correctly on a square minimap.
- Version now reads from the addon's own metadata, so the login line can't show the wrong number.
1.0.2
Fixed
- The minimap button was left stranded in the middle of the screen after opening and closing the live map HUD, until a reload. It now re-anchors to the minimap edge as soon as the minimap resizes.
1.0.1
Added
- Minimap button. A Gleaner icon on the minimap edge — left-click plans the route, middle-click toggles the nav arrow, right-click toggles the live map HUD. Drag it around the edge to reposition. Toggle it off in the options window.
- Gleaner icon. The addon now has its own icon, shown on the minimap button and in the AddOns list.
- More keybinds. Plan Route and Options Window now have their own bindings, alongside the existing HUD, arrow and pool ones (under Key Bindings → Gleaner).
- Cardinal marker size — the N/E/S/W letters on the detection ring are now resizable in the options window, next to their colour.
Fixed
- The options window (
/glean config) needed running twice to open — it now opens on the first try. - Keybind names were unclear and truncated in the bindings list. The two HUDs are now plainly Live Map HUD vs Farming Radar HUD, and all names fit the column.
Changed
- Options window now shows a footer reminding you where to bind keys.
- Corrected a stale tooltip on the Rares toggle that referenced the old bundled dataset.
1.0.0
First public release.
Gathering
- Records herb, ore, fishing pool, treasure and lumber nodes as you gather them, with proximity de-dupe so one node doesn't become a cluster of pins.
- Self-teaching detection —
/glean learn <type>binds the next gather cast, so a patch changing spell IDs doesn't break it. - Fishing pools are detected from the pool's tooltip, not the loot, so open-water casts and your own bobber don't get recorded.
- Modes — mining, herbalism, fishing, treasure, lumber, dual, rare, everything.
- Imports GatherMate2's database if you have it.
Routing
- Solves an efficient loop through the zone's nodes (nearest-neighbour + 2-opt), with clustering so dense patches become one stop.
- The route evolves as you play — a node recorded mid-run is spliced into the loop you're already walking by cheapest insertion, rather than re-solving from scratch.
- Nav arrow that follows where you're actually going: it tracks your travel direction, and if you leave a stop behind it re-targets forward along your path instead of dragging you back.
Display
- Pins on the world map, minimap, a radar HUD, and a live map HUD.
- The live HUD borrows the real minimap so Blizzard's own tracking blips show — the only way to see genuinely live nodes and mailboxes. Terrain fades out, blips stay, and movement passes straight through so you can play with it up.
- Route line on all surfaces, breadcrumb trail, compass, coordinates, and a detection ring with cardinal markers.
- Options window (
/glean config) with colour and thickness for every line.
Rares
- Bundled spawn locations for Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar and Voidstorm.
- Learns rares anywhere else from their vignettes as you meet them, recovering real creature IDs.
- Tracks which rares you've done this reset and keeps them out of your route.
Notes
- Zero dependencies. No Ace3, no HereBeDragons, no embedded libraries.
- Pin states are honest about what they can know: a harvested node is genuinely marked empty, but "a node is here right now" is a proximity estimate — the game gives addons no way to query that.
