Glass MiniMap Bar Changelog

v1.2.0 - 2026-10-21

Changed

  • A new default look: Pearl. The bar and its round buttons wear Pearl glass, with a softer sheen and a light frost. To keep the look you had, pick Classic: the new "Glass" setting in the options, or /gmb material classic.

Added

  • Choose the glass: Pearl, Clean or Classic, in the options or with /gmb material.
  • Ready for Glass UI, the upcoming home of the Glass addons. When Glass UI's "Use Glass UI appearance" is on, the bar takes its Pearl glass and its colour (clear, smoked or your class colour), and follows a change of colour straight away, together with Glass MiniMap. Your own choice of glass is kept and comes back when you turn that off (after a /reload). /gmb suite shows which look is in use. Without Glass UI, nothing changes.
  • Now also on Wago and GitHub Releases, besides CurseForge.

v1.1.1 - 2026-10-20

Fixed

  • An addon no longer shows up twice in the bar when its minimap button and its entry in Blizzard's AddOns list go by different names (Portal Roulette, 123).
  • The glass now follows Glass MiniMap's theme fully. The bar and its round buttons took the theme's colour but kept the default sheen; they now take its sheen too.

Changed

  • Ships the glass material LibGlass r11 (the look is unchanged).

v1.1.0 - 2026-10-13

Added

  • Blizzard's AddOns list in the bar. Addons that only show up in Blizzard's "AddOns" button (the compartment by the calendar) now get a button in the bar too, and the AddOns button itself is hidden: everything is in one place. An addon that's in both is shown once. New and on by default; turn it off in the options ("Blizzard's AddOns list in the bar") to get the AddOns button back.
  • A public API for other addons (docs/PUBLIC-API.md): an addon can open the bar from its own button and tint the glass to match. Glass MiniMap uses it: its bottom-left disc opens this bar.

Changed

  • Repeating the last button used never clicks a button that has become protected.
  • Ships the glass material LibGlass r6 (the look is unchanged).

v1.0.2 - 2026-10-04

Fixed

  • The chat notice about a new client build really is gone now. v1.0.1 still printed it once per new game build ("new client build … re-measure"): the download took itself for a developer's copy. That line was for the developer only.

v1.0.1 - 2026-10-04

Fixed

  • No more "measured on …" line in chat at every login. On a newer game client, the addon announced which build it was tested on each time you logged in. Players never needed that; it is gone.

Under the hood

  • The glass look now comes from LibGlass, a small library shared by the Glass addons and included in the download (nothing extra to install). The bar and the buttons look and behave exactly as before; a future fix to the glass reaches every Glass addon you use.

v1.0.0 - 2026-09-27

First release, for World of Warcraft: Forever (client 1.60.1).

If you want more, use HidingBar: this is a small, streamlined take on it.

Read this if you use HidingBar

  • Disable HidingBar (and HidingBar_Options) first. Both collect the same minimap buttons and would fight over them.

Added

  • Your addons' minimap buttons, gathered into one liquid-glass bar that grows out of a glass launcher on the minimap ring. Hover the launcher to open it (or set it to open on click); it closes by itself when the mouse leaves, and stays open while you're in a menu one of its buttons opened.
  • A round glass skin on every collected button, matching the bar. It can be turned off.
  • Hide and order the buttons in Options → AddOns → Glass MiniMap Bar: move buttons between Hidden and Shown in bar, and set their place with Up / Down.
  • Last used (optional): the launcher shows the last button you used, and right-clicking the launcher uses it again.
  • The bar opens toward the middle of the screen from wherever the launcher sits, and can wrap into rows or columns. Direction, buttons per row, button size and the closing delay are all options.
  • /gmb opens the options; /gmb scan lists what was collected and what was skipped.
