How This Fork Differs from the Original

GearScoreTBCClassic focuses on:

• Compatibility with The Burning Crusade Classic
• Ongoing maintenance and bug fixes
• Preserving the original GearScore calculation logic and user experience

No functionality has been removed from the original addon.

GearScoreTBCClassic

GearScoreTBCClassic is a lightweight addon for World of Warcraft Classic (TBC / Season of Discovery) that calculates and displays a Gear Score (GS) and Average Item Level (iLvl) for your character and for inspected characters.

It is designed as a quick comparative metric to estimate overall gear quality while preserving the original behavior and philosophy of classic GearScore addons.

Features

• Gear Score (GS) calculation for your character and inspected players
• Average Item Level (iLvl) display
• Character Frame & Inspect Frame integration
• Colored Gear Score, based on percentile relative to the current phase (similar to Warcraft Logs)
• Automatic and lightweight — no configuration required

How It Works

The Gear Score is calculated based on:

• Item Level, adjusted by slot-based modifiers
• Enchantments, which add value to enchantable items
• Slot weighting to reflect the importance of different equipment pieces

This provides a fast, consistent metric for gear comparison.

Usage

Simply install the addon and log into the game.

Gear Score and average item level will automatically appear in:

• The character frame
• The inspect frame

No slash commands or configuration options are currently required.
