Description
GearLens
GearLens is a lightweight gear audit addon for MoP Classic. It overlays item level numbers directly onto every slot of the Character and Inspect frames, and warns you, slot by slot, when a piece of gear has a fixable issue.
Features
Item Level Display
- Quality-colored item level chip on every gear slot
- Average item level badge anchored above the weapon slots
- Both the Character frame and Inspect frame are supported
Gear Issue Warnings Slots with problems are highlighted with a warning icon. Hovering the slot shows the item tooltip with the specific issues listed beneath it.
Inspect Frame Buttons
- Whisper Issues: sends the inspected player a whisper listing all flagged slots and their problems
- Report to Chat: posts the same report to party, raid, or say depending on your current group
Issues Checked

| Outdated gems | Wrath-era or older gems (ilvl < 81) socketed into MoP gear |
| Low quality gems | Below Rare (blue) quality in current-tier gear |
| Belt Buckle | Waist slot with no sockets at all |
| Blacksmithing sockets | Wrist and gloves missing the extra BS socket (Blacksmiths only) |
| Missing enchant | All enchantable slots (shoulders, chest, legs, feet, wrists, gloves, back, weapons) |
| Ring enchants | Rings missing an enchant (Enchanters only) |
| Engineering tinkers | Belt (Nitro Boosts), gloves (Synapse Springs / Phase Fingers), cloak (Goblin Glider) |
| Tinker + enchant reminder | Gloves and cloak support both a tinker and an enchant simultaneously |
| Armor specialization | Wearing the wrong armor type for your class |
| Incomplete upgrades | Items that have not been fully Valor-upgraded |
| Eye of the Black Prince | Sha-Touched and Thunder King weapons (ilvl 522-541) missing the extra prismatic socket |

What GearLens Won't Do
- No group scanning: inspection is per-target only, opened through the normal Inspect frame
- Profession checks are player-only: Blacksmithing sockets, ring enchants, and Engineering tinkers are only flagged on your own character; inspected players are checked for tinkers only if a tinker is already visible on them
- PvP gear is exempt from the Eye of the Black Prince and legendary meta gem checks (Malevolent, Tyrannical, Grievous, and Prideful items)
- Perfect-cut gems are exempt from quality and outdated checks regardless of their item level
- No gear recommendations: GearLens only flags what is missing, it does not suggest specific enchants, gems, or upgrades
