Gear Up

Gear Up helps you decide where to spend your play time when you are chasing gear upgrades. It opens a compact in-game planner that compares your currently equipped items against raid, Mythic+, Great Vault, Nebulous Voidcore, and Dawnlight Manaflux upgrade opportunities using editable stat weights.

After login, the addon scans loot from WoW's Encounter Journal in small background batches. As that loot index warms up, Gear Up builds upgrade candidates for each gear slot, generates relevant difficulty and weekly-source variants, and scores those candidates against your current equipment. The visible score is based on weighted stat gain, so the planner can highlight items with better stat distribution instead of relying only on item level.

Access Gear Up by clicking the "G" on your character Panel

The Upgrades tab lets you inspect one gear slot at a time. Each row shows the candidate item, source, item level, score gain, and the first difficulty or source where that item becomes an upgrade. You can switch a recommendation to a higher available variant, include or exclude raid, Mythic+, Great Vault, Nebulous Voidcore, Dawnlight Manaflux, and trinket results, and optionally show gray rows for items the addon considered but did not rank as upgrades.

The Activities tab ranks raid and dungeon activities by how many slots they can improve and by total weighted score gain. This gives you a quick answer to practical questions like which dungeon has the most useful drops for your current character, which raid source is worth targeting, or whether a source only has one narrow upgrade. Activity rows also expose per-slot upgrade icons and tooltip details so you can review the reasoning without leaving the planner.

The Stats tab lets you edit the weights used for scoring. Gear Up includes class and spec default weights in Data.lua, can restore those defaults, and can simplify scoring to primary-stat-only mode. Saved settings persist between sessions through the addon's saved variables.

Gear Up also improves item review through tooltips. Hovering upgrade rows shows the candidate item, generated planner variants when needed, equipped-item comparisons, and weighted stat deltas. For generated sources such as Great Vault variants, Nebulous Voidcore rolls, and Dawnlight Manaflux conversions, the addon annotates the tooltip so you can tell when a row is based on a planner estimate rather than a raw Encounter Journal item.

The addon is intentionally focused on fast gear planning from available loot and stat priorities. It does not currently simulate embellishments, tier set bonuses, trinket proc behavior, or class-specific combat effects; those require custom scoring rules beyond raw item stats.
