Gear Suggester

Gear Suggester helps you notice meaningful equipment upgrades without adding another permanent window to the screen. When your bags are open, better equippable items receive a clear green highlight directly on their bag slots.

How upgrades are ranked

Gear Suggester first checks whether the item is usable by the active specialization and compares it with the correct equipped slot. It then prioritizes:

1. Item level.
2. The specialization's usable primary stat.
3. The highest-priority secondary stat.
4. The next secondary stat.

Automatic priorities use the character's currently equipped secondary-stat totals. You can also set a custom order for Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, and Versatility.

• Scans equippable items across all carried bags.
• Green UP highlight appears on the real bag item; there is no extra recommendation bar or persistent panel.
• Handles rings, trinkets, and one-hand/off-hand comparisons across both valid slots.
• Rechecks after inventory, equipment, specialization, talent, and item-data changes.
• /gp debug explains why each candidate was accepted or filtered.
• Optionally sells gray-quality junk using Retail's native Sell All Junk API when a merchant opens.

Gear Suggester is intentionally a practical heuristic, not a simulation. Special effects, set bonuses, embellishments, trinket mechanics, sockets, and exact encounter value can outweigh a simple stat comparison. Locked, protected, unusable, or unresolved items are never presented as safe upgrades.
