Gear Compass is an in-game reference for gear progression in **World of Warcraft: Midnight**. It's a static reference — it doesn't read your equipped gear, it just shows you the numbers you need at a glance.
## What it shows
- **General** — upgrade rank item levels (Adventurer → Myth) and crafted gear costs, as collapsible accordions
- **Mythic+** — loot, Great Vault, and crest rewards per key level
- **Depths** — Bountiful Coffer, Nemesis Strongbox, Gilded Stash, Trovehunter's Bounty, and Great Vault rewards per tier
- **World** — item levels from world quests, world events, and world bosses
- **Raids/Prey** — raid loot ranges by difficulty, and Prey Hunt rewards
- **PvP** — item levels from Honor, Conquest, and Bloody Tokens
## Opening it
- Slash command: `/gearcompass` or `/gc`
- A draggable minimap button
- A button on the character panel (next to the close button) that minimizes/maximizes the window without closing the character panel
## Localization
English and Spanish (`esES`/`esMX`) are included, selected automatically from your client's language.
## Data accuracy
Gear progression data is transcribed from in-game sources and cross-checked against other community addons where possible. If you spot a number that's off for the current patch, let us know in the comments and we'll check it out.
## Installation
Download the latest release and extract it into your `Interface/AddOns/` folder, so that `Interface/AddOns/GearCompass/GearCompass.toc` exists.
## A note of honesty
This is my first WoW addon. It was built with the help of AI — I'm not a Lua developer by trade, but the gear progression data was manually verified and cross-checked against in-game sources and other community addons before being included. If you spot something wrong, drop a comment and I'll check it out.
