Gather Helper
Hi, I’m Lówkick-Blackmoore, and this is Gather Helper, my first addon!
After seeing people actually download and use it, I wanted to keep improving it and turn it into something that feels much better to use in real gameplay. This version is a big step forward for the addon: the UI has been expanded, the workflow is cleaner, and Gather Helper now gives you much more than just a simple session tracker.
The biggest improvement is that the addon now has a full tab-based interface. Instead of relying on slash commands for everything, the most important features are now available directly inside the addon window.
What Gather Helper does
Gather Helper is a farming companion built for herb and ore routes.
It tracks your current gathering session, keeps count of what you loot, uses cached Auction House prices for supported materials, and shows you what your run is worth while you are still farming. That means you do not just see how many items you picked up you also get a much better idea of how profitable your route actually is.
With Gather Helper, you can:
- track herbs, ores, and other supported materials during a farming session
- automatically count looted item quantities
- keep your current session through reloads and relogs
- cache Auction House prices for supported tracked items
- calculate your current session value
- estimate your current gold per hour
- review saved session history
- compare your current run against previous saved runs
- export session data as JSON, CSV, or a compact summary report
New UI overview
Gather Helper now uses a three-tab layout:
Session
The Session tab is your main live view while farming.
Here you can start, pause, resume, and stop sessions, refresh prices, clear saved prices, and see your tracked loot, current value, total runtime, and gold per hour.
Analysis
The Analysis tab gives you a better overview of your results.
It highlights value breakdowns, top contributors, category splits, price health, recent performance trends, and comparisons against saved sessions.
Export
The Export tab lets you export your run in different formats.
You can export the current session or your last saved session as JSON, CSV, or a readable summary text output.
How pricing works
Auction House pricing must be cached before value calculations can work.
That means Gather Helper first needs to scan and store current Auction House prices for the supported tracked items. Once that price cache exists, the addon can use it to calculate your session value and estimate your gold per hour.
If the Auction House is closed, the addon will still track your loot normally it just cannot assign up-to-date market values until prices have been refreshed.
Session history and comparisons
Gather Helper now keeps saved session snapshots, which makes it easier to look back at previous runs instead of only focusing on the one you are currently doing.
You can use that data to:
- review saved farming sessions
- compare your current session against your last saved run
- compare against your best saved gold-per-hour run
- compare against your average saved session
This makes it much easier to judge whether a route is actually improving over time.
Quality-of-life features
This version also adds several usability improvements:
- a cleaner tabbed main window
- optional compact mode
- a minimize button that collapses the addon into a small strip with the most important live session info
- optional auto-show on login
- window lock support
- optional loot-filtered item view
- selectable gold display format
- optional session notes
How to use Gather Helper
Using the addon is simple:
- Open the Gather Helper window.
- Open the Auction House and refresh prices.
- Start a session.
- Farm herbs and ores as usual.
- Watch your value, loot totals, and gold per hour update while you play.
- Stop the run when finished and review it in Analysis or export it from the Export tab.

Thanks to everyone who downloaded the addon, tested it, and gave feedback.
I really appreciate it, especially because this is my first addon. Gather Helper started as a small idea for tracking farm value, and it has already grown into something much more complete. I hope it continues to become a useful tool for anyone who enjoys optimizing their gathering routes.
