ForeverTrainer-v1.1.0
What's new
ForeverTrainer 1.1.0
Two more ways to open the spell planner, besides /ft and the minimap addon
button.
Added
- A ForeverTrainer tab on the spellbook. It hangs on the right edge of the book, styled like Forever's own side tabs (Character, Professions). Click it to open the planner beside the spellbook, click again to close it; it looks selected while the planner is open. Its tooltip shows what you can train now.
- "Open Spell Planner" button in Options > AddOns > ForeverTrainer. The planner opens above the Settings window, which stays open.
Notes
- The tab is ForeverTrainer's own frame. It does not change Blizzard's spellbook tabs, search box or pages.
- If you have moved the planner window, it reopens where you left it, also from the spellbook tab.
ForeverTrainer 1.0.0
A new addon under the same name. ForeverTrainer is now a class spell
planner: type /ft anywhere, no trainer needed, and see every spell of your
class, the level it unlocks at, its rank and its training cost. The 0.1
trainer-window companion is gone.
Added
- Spell planner window (
/ft, or the minimap addon button):- "Train now", with the total cost (shown in red when you cannot afford it).
- "Needs the previous rank".
- One block per future level: "Level 20 · 9 · 1g 80s".
- "Needs a talent", "Ignored" and "Learned" (with what you have spent).
- Sections collapse on click; "Learned" and "Ignored" start collapsed.
- A summary line: what you can train now, and what the next level brings.
- Search by spell name or rank.
- Hover a spell for the game's tooltip, plus its status, cost and missing rank or talent. Shift-click links it in chat; right-click ignores it.
- Chat reminders: at login ("3 spells to train now") and on level-up ("Level 20: 9 new spells to train"). They can be turned off in the options.
- French translation.
- All nine classes, filtered by your faction and race.
Changed
- The class data comes from What's Training 11.0.0-beta5's Forever tables (MIT, by Sveng). It is generated by a script and was not hand-edited.
- Saved settings from 0.1 are reset (new format).
Fixed
- The options panel failed at login ("attempt to index global 'self'").
- Secret values could slip through FTR's own guard.
Known limitations
- Costs and levels come from What's Training's Forever data. They have not been checked one by one against Forever's trainers yet. Please report any difference: name, rank, the trainer's level and cost.
- A few rank-1 spells are not in the data: Warrior Sunder Armor and Intercept, and some priest racials. Until you know rank 1, rank 2 shows under "Needs the previous rank".
- Rogue poison skill requirements are shown, not checked.
- No weapon skills, hunter pet abilities or warlock tomes yet.
- Not yet run in a Forever client by the author: please run
/ft probeand report its output.
ForeverTrainer 0.1.0 Beta 1
First public beta. ForeverTrainer is a read-only companion for supported
class trainers in WoW Forever (Interface: 16001). It is a separate panel: it
does not buy a service, target or interact with a trainer, or alter Blizzard's
trainer UI.
Included
- Live services from the currently opened supported class trainer: learned, learnable now and future services.
- Local All, Can Learn Now, Next Levels and Learned views, plus text search.
- Required level, exposed skill/prerequisite information, individual cost, affordability and the total for currently available services.
- Native service tooltips when hovering a row; a live refresh after trainer or money updates, while retaining the current scroll position.
- Optional once-per-level observed-unlock reminder and bounded local learning history.
- Settings panel;
/ftand/forevertraineraliases withshow,hide,toggle,options,status,probe,history,debugandreset.
Important beta notes
This first beta has not yet been run in a real WoW Forever client. It passed Lua syntax/TOC/package checks, the non-automation contract, and 22 assertions against the cached published Forever UI source. Those are not a claim of in-game compatibility.
Please run /ft probe while a class trainer is open and report the output,
client build, locale and any service state, cost or tooltip that differs from
the native trainer.
Known limitations
- V1 supports class trainers only. Profession, pet, weapon and tome trainers are detected or reserved for future work, but are not supported surfaces.
- FTR deliberately has no static spell database: it can show only services the currently opened trainer exposes.
- A cost unavailable from the game is never invented as zero; the total is marked unavailable instead.
- Runtime verification and the wowless logic run still require a real Forever client and Docker Desktop respectively.
