## v1.0 — Initial Release (2026)

First public release of Friend Finder. Built from the ground up as an
accessibility-focused alternative to Blizzard's default party markers.

Map engines
- Minimap portrait engine — replaces default party blips
- World Map portrait engine
- Zone Map portrait engine
- Flight Map portrait engine
- Tier-based scaling system: portraits automatically resize based on
map type (world, continent, zone, dungeon, microzone) so they're
large where you need to see them and compact where they'd clutter

Portrait system
- Real Blizzard 3D portrait textures for player and party/raid members
- Class weapon icon fallback for portraits still loading (no more
"?" placeholders on Evokers, new characters, or distant party)
- Player name labels with tier-aware font sizing
- Player icon rendered above party members for clear self-identification

Customizations
- Border styles with faction-aware coloring
- Glow ring with class, faction, or fixed color options
- State-aware glow: auto-switches color when a unit enters combat,
drops below 35% HP, gains aggro, or goes AFK
- Facing arrow crest showing the player's facing direction on the map
- Per-mode preview (Default / User / Party) in the settings window

User interface
- Full in-game settings window — no slash commands required
- Minimap launcher button (draggable around the minimap edge)
- World Map launcher button (top-right corner)
- Profile system: save, switch, and export customization sets
- Live preview pane reflecting current mode, border, and glow

Accessibility
- High-contrast portraits replace near-invisible default dots
- Bright glow rings for at-a-glance unit identification
- State-aware coloring conveys combat/health/idle status visually
- Mouse-driven settings — no slash command memorization required
- Designed and tested for low-vision players

Slash commands
- /wmpi — open settings window
- /wmpi help — full command reference
- /wmpi posdebug, /wmpi rot, /wmpi scalehere — diagnostic tools

Known limitations
- Party/raid member positions inside instanced dungeons are restricted
by Blizzard's API and cannot be displayed (game limitation)
- Battlegrounds map and Arena map not supported in v1.0

Compatibility
- The War Within (Interface 11.0.5 / TOC 120005)
- Retail only
