ForeverUI 0.4.99
What's new
ForeverUI 0.4.99
- Fixed: "attempt to compare a secret number value, while execution tainted by 'ForeverUI'" from Blizzard's own player frame and health bar (UnitFrame.lua:250, TextStatusBar.lua:110, HealthBar.lua:8). ForeverUI was writing its own notes onto the default player, target and nameplate frames, which tainted them. It keeps those notes to itself now and checks the frames' alpha instead, so a faded frame that Blizzard repaints comes back to nothing within a twentieth of a second.
- Less taint from our own code: tests on secret values (the frames' boolean checks and the health colour) are now asked of the game first, so the game doesn't log each failed test as tainted code. Keeping the chat conversation no longer hooks the chat window's message function; it reads the chat's own message list every few seconds instead. The nameplate and health-text percentages ask the game first too.
- Launch date: Forever goes live 4 November (the welcome window, Info page and the HealForever/TankForever welcome said 6 November).
