Description
Forever++
Small, native-looking improvements to the default UI for WoW: Forever.
Forever++ adds to Blizzard's interface in small, separate modules. It is not a UI replacement: no new unit frames, action bars, or skins. Everything uses Blizzard's own fonts, icons, and colors, so it looks like it shipped with the game.
- No setup. Install it and play. No popups or setup steps at login.
- Every module stands alone. Turn any of them on or off in Settings, live, with no
/reload. - Made for Forever. Forever runs the modern Retail client, not Classic Era, and Forever++ is written for that client.
- Works with Edit Mode. The frames Forever++ adds (Combat Alert, Currency Bar, Flight Timer, the waypoint arrow, and the framerate text) move and resize in Edit Mode, like Blizzard's.
Open it with /fpp or Options > AddOns > Forever++.
Modules
A few modules start turned off and are marked Off by default. Turn any module on or off in Settings.
Automation
- Auto Decline: turns down duels, and optionally party invites, guild invites, and guild charters. Can let friends and guildmates through. Off by default.
- Auto Dismount: dismounts or stands you up when a spell, flight, loot, or attack fails because you're mounted or sitting.
- Auto Gossip: when an NPC has only one option, or one service beside small talk, and no quests, picks it, so the bank, shop, trainer, or flight map opens straight away. Hold Shift to choose yourself. Off by default.
- Auto Release: releases your spirit when you die in a battleground, unless someone can resurrect you. Off by default.
- Auto Repair: repairs your gear at merchants who repair and says in chat what it cost. Hold Shift to skip it.
- Auto Screenshot: takes a screenshot when you level up, earn an achievement, or defeat a boss, and optionally for good loot, reputation, PvP ranks, titles, and deaths. Can hide the interface for the shot. Off by default.
- Auto Sell Junk: sells your gray items when you talk to a merchant, and says in chat what they sold for. Hold Shift to skip it. Off by default.
- Auto Stow: puts your weapons away a few seconds after combat ends.
- Auto Weapon Buff: right-clicking a sharpening stone, weightstone, oil, poison, or fishing lure in your bags puts it straight on your weapon, without clicking the weapon. Not in combat. Off by default.
- Comprehend Scrolls: for Mages, right-clicking a scroll you read with Comprehension in your bags casts Comprehend Scroll on it, without opening the spellbook. Not in combat.
- Fast Loot: with auto loot on, takes everything at once.
- Fishing Cast: double right-click in the world with a fishing pole equipped to cast Fishing, and optionally make the bobber's splash louder while you fish. Never in combat. Off by default.
- Gathering Tracking: keeps Find Minerals or Find Herbs on after logging in, zoning, or dying, and can swap between them.
- Skip Cinematics: skips cinematics you've already seen, or every one. Hold Shift to watch. Off by default.
Character
- Buff Timers: shows the time left on your buffs and debuffs as a clock, like 1:23, instead of rounded minutes like 2 m.
- Character Window: side tabs for Equipment, Titles, and Pet, stats starting at the top, your level and name in class color, durability bars beside your gear, and green Skills tab bars for the weapons you have equipped.
- Spell Ranks: marks spells on your action bars that have a higher rank you already know, and names the best rank in the tooltip.
/fpp rankslists them. - Talent Planner: a Plan Talents button on the talent window. Plan in order, see the level each point comes at, keep several plans, and share them as text. The plan's next talent glows when you have a point to spend.
- XP Bar Text: shows your XP, percent, rested XP, and the XP from quests ready to turn in on the experience bar, all the time, and fills the bar in green with that quest XP. Its tooltip adds XP per hour and time to level.
Chat
- Chat Copy: a button beside the chat window that opens the chat as text you can select and copy.
- Chat Font: shows chat in another of the game's fonts (Friz Quadrata, Arial Narrow, Skurri, or Morpheus), at the size you already use.
- Chat History: keeps each chat window's latest lines, for each character, when you log out or reload, and shows them again when you log in.
- Persistent Chat: keeps chat text on screen instead of fading it out.
- Short Channel Names: shows chat channels as [1. G], [LFG], or [General] instead of [1. General], and [Guild] and [Party] as [GD] and [P]. Off by default.
- Social Button: moves the Quick Join button down beside the other chat buttons.
- Whisper Window: keeps whispers in a window of their own: a conversation for each person with their level, race, and class, unread counts, and a box to reply in. Conversations are saved for each character. Open it with
/fpp whispersor its button beside the chat window. Off by default.
Interface
- Combat Alert: a red "Entering Combat" or green "Leaving Combat" line in the middle of the screen, with an optional sound. Off by default.
- Currency Bar: your gold, and the currencies you mark Show on Backpack, in a small box. Hover it to see what this session gained or spent. Off by default.
- Recipe Colors: colors recipes in the professions window by skill-up chance: orange, yellow, green, or gray.
- Tooltips: unit and item tooltips colored by class, reaction, or quality, plus player titles and who a unit is targeting.
Items
- Already Known: a green check on recipes, mounts, pets, toys, and other items you already know or have, at merchants, the auction house, and in your bags, mail, loot window, and loot rolls.
- Bag Slot Counter: shows how many bag slots are free on the bag buttons, in orange when you're running low.
- Easy Delete: types DELETE for you when you destroy a good item. Off by default.
- Item Tooltips: extra lines on item tooltips, each with its own checkbox:
- Sell Price: the vendor price of the whole stack (hold Shift for one).
- Repair Cost: what repairing damaged gear costs, without a merchant's repair cursor. Off by default.
- Auction Prices: the lowest buyout, scanned when you open the auction house, plus a recipe's reagent cost and profit in the professions window.
- Item Count: how many you have in your bags and bank. Off by default.
- Profession Tooltips: the skill a herb, ore, skinnable beast, or locked box or chest needs, colored against your skill like trainer recipes.
- Unusable Items Tint: tints red the items you can't use (class, armor or weapon skill, level, or profession) in your bags, the bank, and at merchants, and optionally in the auction house and loot window.
- Waylaid Crates: shows what each bundle a Waylaid Crate takes costs at auction, and adds a Waylaid Crates category to the auction house that lists every item your crates still need.
Map
- Flight Timer: times every flight you take. Next time, a bar counts the flight down and the flight map's tooltip shows how long it takes.
- Hide Filter Reset: hides the reset button on the world map's filter dropdown, which shows whenever a filter is off.
- Minimap Node Icons: puts the herb's or ore's own icon on each tracking dot on the minimap while Find Herbs or Find Minerals is on. Off by default.
- Waypoints:
/way [zone] x ypins a spot and tracks it, with an arrow on screen pointing the way. The arrow can follow the quest selected on the map and lead you back to your corpse. Leaves/wayto TomTom if you have it. - World Map: four parts, each with its own checkbox:
- Points of Interest: dungeons, raids, capital cities, flight masters, boats, zeppelins, spirit healers, and Skyborne ley lines.
- Zone Info: a panel in a corner of the map with the zone's level range, who holds it, its dungeons, the fishing skill it needs, and its herbs, ore, and skinning.
- Unexplored Areas: shows the parts of zone maps you haven't explored yet.
- Coordinates: your coordinates and the cursor's in the map's title bar.
Quests
- Auto Quest: accepts quests and turns in finished ones. Never picks a reward for you. Hold Shift to do it yourself. Off by default.
- Best Quest Reward: a gold coin on the quest reward that sells to a vendor for the most. It never picks for you.
- Forever Quest Icons: an infinity sign (or the Forever logo) after quests that are new to Forever, in the quest log, the objective tracker, quest givers' lists, and quest details.
- Quest Levels: a quest's level before its name, like [12], in a quest giver's list and at the top of the quest's details.
- Quest Nameplates: a quest icon and your progress (3/8) beside creatures you need for a quest. In a party, it can count everyone's progress.
- Quest Tracker: restyles Blizzard's quest tracker with your choice of font, a dark box behind it, fading in combat, and optionally sorting quests by level or showing only your zone's quests. It's still Blizzard's tracker, so Edit Mode and quest items work as before.
System
- AddOns List: the AddOns list without category headers, enabled addons first, and optionally addon sets you can turn back on later.
- Commands:
/rlreloads the UI and/clearempties a chat window, unless another addon already has those commands. - Error Catcher: catches Lua errors and blocked actions quietly instead of showing Blizzard's error popup, and keeps them in a window you can copy a bug report from (
/fpp errors). - Hide Beta Feedback: hides the beta's "Press F6" tooltip line and feedback buttons. Beta and PTR only. Off by default.
- Minimap Button: a Forever++ button on the minimap or in the addon compartment. Click it to open settings, or right-click it to turn automations like Auto Repair, Auto Sell Junk, and Fast Loot on and off. While Error Catcher is on, Shift-click it to see the errors it caught.
- Movable Framerate: move and resize the framerate text (Ctrl+R) in Edit Mode. Off by default.
Units
- Class Colors: class-colored health bars on the player, target, focus, party, and target-of-target frames, red and yellow for hostile and neutral NPCs, and class-colored names in the friends and who lists.
- NPC Nameplates: friendly NPCs show just their name and title, like
<Innkeeper>, until they're hurt or in combat. - Player Nameplates: friendly players show just their name and guild until they're hurt or in combat, with an icon for group members and the Battle.net logo for friends.
Tools
- Console Variables: a Settings page to search, change, and reset the game's console variables (CVars).
- Profiler: a Settings page that records how much CPU each module takes, beside Forever++'s total CPU and memory.
Settings
Type /fpp or open Options > AddOns > Forever++. The Modules page lists every module, by category, with a checkbox to turn it on or off. Click a module to see what it does and change its options. The search box at the top finds a module or option by name. An option you've changed has an undo arrow that sets it back.
The Defaults button at the top right puts Forever++ back to how it started (Recommended Defaults), or also turns on Fishing Cast, Skip Cinematics, Auto Screenshot, Currency Bar, Hide Beta Feedback, Short Channel Names, Easy Delete, Auto Weapon Buff, Minimap Node Icons, Whisper Window, and Auto Gossip (Developer's Defaults). It only resets Forever++, not Blizzard's settings.
