Forever TTS

Hear your quests and NPC conversations as you explore WoW Forever, using the game’s built-in text-to-speech voices.

Forever TTS pairs live narration with the familiar VoiceOver portrait and speech queue. No voice packs, API keys, subscriptions, or companion apps required.

Getting started

Install the addon, restart WoW, then run:

• /ftts test — hear a sample.
• /ftts options — choose your voice and configure narration.

Quest and NPC narration starts automatically by default. If no voices appear, check WoW’s Accessibility / Text to Speech settings and your installed Windows speech voices.

Beta compatibility

Currently targets WoW Forever beta 1.60.1, build 69893, on Windows. Other client versions and macOS are not currently supported.

Long dialogue is split into sections; resuming restarts the current section. Stopping narration can also interrupt other features using WoW’s shared TTS system. Voice availability and quality depend on the voices available to your client.

Credits

The portrait, queue interface, and original interface artwork are adapted from VoiceOver by mrthinger and contributors, released under the Unlicense. Forever TTS adds live TTS integration and Forever-specific compatibility. Bundled libraries retain their original license notices.
