ForeverTalentManager (FTM)
Plan your talents ahead of time and follow your chosen build as you level.
FTM is a talent planner for WoW Forever. Choose talents in a familiar tree window, save the order you want to learn them, and spend points yourself or let Automatic follow your plan.
Features
- Save several builds and choose when to learn each talent.
- Keep separate plans for Primary and Secondary.
- Prepare different builds for planned respecs.
- Spend available points in order and apply them together.
- Use a mouse or controller, with talent descriptions and button help.
Planning is a preview. Saving a build does not spend your character's talent points.
Getting started
- Type /ftm planner and choose talents in the order you want to learn them. New empty → Confirm new starts a fresh level 10 plan, even on a higher-level character.
- Name your build. Save plan keeps it for later; Save & assign also makes it the plan your character will follow.
- Open Manager or type /ftm. Check the build and enable Automatic when you want FTM to spend points for you. Pause stops automatic spending.
To view a saved build, choose Saved → select a build → Load. Hover briefly over a button, or move controller focus onto it, for help. /ftm help lists commands.
Dual spec
Once dual spec is unlocked in the game, set up a plan for each spec. Switch to Primary or Secondary, then create or load a plan for that spec and choose Save & assign.
FTM remembers each spec's assignment. After switching specs in the game, check the build in Manager and enable Automatic again if you want to use it.
Planning a respec
Open Respecs to prepare builds for different level ranges—for example, levels 10–20, followed by a different build from 21 onward.
Save each build, select it under Saved plans, enter its level range, then choose Save stage. Select the plan before adjusting the level boxes. Primary and Secondary can have separate routes.
When it's time to respec, reset your talents through the game as usual. Choose the next stage in FTM and select Activate, then check Manager and enable Automatic when ready. You choose when to respec or switch specs.
Need help or found a problem?
Leave a comment on this CurseForge page with:
- Your FTM version, class and level.
- What you tried and what happened instead.
- Whether you used a mouse or controller.
- A screenshot or the exact message, if possible.
To save a troubleshooting report:
While out of combat, type /ftm diagnostics save, or choose Manager → Tools → Save diagnostics.
Save any unfinished planner work, then /reload or log out normally to save the report to disk.
Open your WoW Forever game folder, then follow this path:
WTF\Account\<your account>\SavedVariables\ForeverTalentManager.luaReplace
<your account>with the account folder you play on. Choose the SavedVariables folder directly inside that account folder.
Make a copy of ForeverTalentManager.lua to share privately with your report. Keep the original file in place.
Please keep whole diagnostic files out of public comments.
Beta notes
FTM is in beta. Dual-spec and respec transitions, still need further in-game testing. Review saved builds after game updates that change talents; some plans may need updating.
Will try to patch/fix and continue development in general as life allows as I will use it for me as well, but I don't want it to become a second job.
