Description
ForeverRecipes
Find missing recipes, compare crafting costs, and estimate profits inside Blizzard's native Professions window.
Built for WoW Forever, ForeverRecipes helps you complete your recipe collection, compare skill-up chances, and see what you could recover by selling or disenchanting your crafts.
No additional addons required. Auctionator is optional; a built-in Auction House scan provides auction estimates when Auctionator is absent.
Find your missing recipes
Browse learned and missing recipes together in their native profession categories. Select a missing recipe to inspect its output, reagents, requirements, and known sources.
Combine search with filters for learned recipes, missing recipes, recipes learnable at your skill, source type, and faction.
Supports Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Alchemy, Cooking, Mining/Smelting, Tailoring, Engineering, Enchanting, First Aid, and Poisons.
Choose how you compare recipes
Keep the familiar Categories layout, or choose a flat list under the Skill-up and Profit menu sections:
| Sort | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Categories | Recipes in their native profession groups. |
| Skill-up chance | Highest displayed chance first, then cheapest craft. |
| Cost - vendor value | Craft cost minus the output's vendor sell value. |
| Cost - AH value | Craft cost minus the output's auction value. |
| Cost - DE value | Craft cost minus the output's expected disenchant value. |
| Cost - best value | Craft cost minus the highest available vendor, AH, or DE return. |
| AH profit | Output auction value minus craft cost, highest first. |
| DE profit | Expected disenchant value minus craft cost, highest first. |
The four Cost sorts put the lowest net cost first, with negative costs representing profit. Monetary ties use the highest displayed whole skill-up percentage. Values cover one whole craft, including multi-item outputs. These sorts compare the return from a craft directly; they do not calculate cost per skill point.
Best value chooses the highest return among the available vendor, AH, and DE estimates. Missing returns are skipped, never treated as zero; the row tooltip identifies the selected return and unavailable alternatives.
For example, a 10s craft with a 4s vendor sell value has a 6s net cost. If its auction value is 12s, its AH net cost is -2s, meaning an estimated 2s profit.
Your search and filters stay active when switching sorts. The Skill-up section hides displayed 0% chances. All non-Categories sorts hide unavailable row estimates, and Profit sorts hide losses while keeping break-even recipes. Empty lists use Blizzard's normal no-results message. For example, Cooking recipes without DE recovery are hidden from DE sorts, while vendor, AH, or best-value sorts can still include them when the relevant estimates are available. Categories continues to show matching recipes regardless of price availability, with unavailable row chances and prices marked as red N/A. Incomplete craft costs retain a known subtotal in the hover breakdown.
Planning at your profession cap? Underlying recipe chances and crafting estimates still work, including at 150/150. Actual skill gains require raising your cap.
Understand your crafting costs
Hover the three estimate rows in recipe details for compact breakdowns:
- Craft cost: reagent quantities, unit prices, subtotals, merchant details, and known reputation and Bartering savings.
- Skill-up chance: base chance, committed Working Overtime rank, talent gain, and your resulting chance.
- Disenchant value: possible materials, probabilities, quantity ranges, and expected auction values.
Reagent costs prefer eligible unlimited-stock gold vendors, then auction prices. Known reputation and Bartering discounts apply to reagent purchases; the output's vendor recovery uses its actual sell value. Missing prices stay unavailable rather than counting as zero.
Skill-up estimates use committed Working Overtime ranks, so uncommitted talent changes do not alter them. When viewing a linked profession, the standalone Skill-up chance sort temporarily falls back to Categories because the other character's talent ranks are unavailable. Reagent estimates use the viewing character's available prices and discounts.
Estimates on item tooltips
See Craft cost (est.) and DE value (est.) when hovering items. Craft cost uses the cheapest completely priced bundled recipe, including unlearned recipes.
Tooltip estimates cover one item; recipe-detail estimates cover one whole craft. Toggle either estimate independently under Filter > Forever Recipes > Tooltips.
Eligible dropped gear can also receive DE estimates from its quality, weapon/armor type, and actual item level, including supported item-level variants. Items do not have to come from a bundled crafting recipe to receive a DE estimate.
Without Auctionator, saved Auction x1 (scan, age) prices appear above the estimates when available, even with both estimate options disabled. This is a per-item buyout, never a stack total. With Auctionator installed, its pricing takes priority.
Auction prices without Auctionator
Visit the Auction House and click Scan prices in its bottom-right bar. Keep the window open until the scan completes. The button shows progress and lets you cancel; cancelled or incomplete scans preserve your previous prices.
Completed scans save relevant per-item buyout prices for use away from the Auction House. Items absent from a later scan retain their last-seen prices and original ages. The scan button is hidden when Auctionator is installed. Scans respect the client's throttle or full-scan cooldown; replicate scans have a 15-minute cooldown, including after cancellation. The completion count covers relevant items priced, rather than every item on the Auction House.
Find sources and set waypoints
Inspect known trainers, recipe vendors, drops, and quest rewards, including available costs, drop percentages, locations, and faction restrictions. Click a source chip to choose a destination when coordinates are available. Recorded locations are bundled with the addon; viewing them does not require Questie or a waypoint addon. Destination menus match the source tooltip colors and two-line layout: NPC and price above the blue zone and yellow parenthesized coordinates, with matching spacing, a tooltip border, and a dark background. A bottom helper reads "Click to set a waypoint". Source hover tooltips stay hidden while choosing a destination. Sources without recorded coordinates cannot provide a navigation destination.
Optional integrations:
- Auctionator: auction prices for crafting, profit, and disenchant estimates.
- Questie: additional quest-source details and prerequisite quests.
- WaypointUI / TomTom: waypoint navigation, with Blizzard's map waypoint system as a fallback where available.
About the estimates
Disenchant yields use Classic baseline estimates for WoW Forever. Auction values exclude fees and deposits and do not guarantee a sale. Extra crafting procs, boosted disenchant yields, and camping bonuses are not assumed.
Eligible soulbound gear can have DE value, but soulbound outputs are excluded from AH profit. Direct enchants have no output item to sell or disenchant. Unsupported DE profiles, missing item data, and missing prices can prevent an estimate. Consumables without DE recovery can still appear in vendor, AH, or best-value comparisons when the relevant prices are available.
