What's new

ForeverMeter

1.14.0

New

  • DPS display: menu → Display → DPS shows damage with the per second value only.
  • Per-window bar text: the window menu sets total, per second and percent for that window only. The options panel keeps the shared setting for windows that have none.
  • My bar only: window menu option; the window shows a single row, your own bar with your rank.
  • No title bar: window menu option; right-click the window or a bar to open its menu.
  • Big number: window menu option; your own value in large text, without bars.
  • In combat, totals are abbreviated by the game (12K).

Changed

  • Addon list description in English, translated into the 11 languages.
  • In-game help (/fm) lists /fm debug.

1.13.0

New

  • Options button: a gear in each window's title bar opens the options (after combat if you are fighting).

Fixed

  • A title too long for a narrow window is cut with "…" instead of wrapping over the first bar.

1.12.0

New

  • Your bar always shown: when you rank below the visible rows, your bar takes the last row with your real rank.

1.11.2

New

  • Mouse wheel on the title: scroll down for the next mode, up for the previous one.

1.11.1

Fixed

  • Death recap: events are shown oldest to newest even when the game lists the killing blow first.
  • Threat against a boss: secret threat values now show "threat unavailable" instead of a Lua error.
  • Damage rows in combat: totals use a format that accepts secret values, so they no longer raise an error.
  • With auto-hide off, the windows and the detail window no longer hide out of combat.
  • A locked window no longer moves when its title is dragged, and /fm lock during a drag no longer leaves it stuck to the cursor.
  • Copy as text: the window no longer opens empty when every source line is secret.
  • /fm options in combat: the options now open when combat ends, instead of being blocked.
  • Adding a window no longer raises an error when another window has no position yet.
  • Reports use C_ChatInfo.SendChatMessage, so they work without the deprecated chat fallback.

1.11.0

New

  • Automatic reset (option, off by default): the data is cleared on entering an instance other than the last one, or on joining a group. Coming back to the same instance after a death, a login or a /reload does not clear it.

1.10.1

Fixed

  • Damage per second no longer drops after the target dies: meter windows now update when the game sends new data, like the Blizzard meter, instead of every 0.2 s.
  • With two threat windows, the second one showed 0/s.
  • Threat per second no longer shows a false spike on the first update after a target change.
  • The threat warning sound plays again on a new target.

Changed

  • Less work out of combat and in raids: windows are redrawn only when their data changes, and group units are cached.

1.10.0

New

  • Copy as text (window menu): opens a box with the window's lines already selected; Ctrl+C to copy them, for a paste into Discord, Escape to close. Out of combat only: amounts are secret in combat. Lines holding a secret name (creature in an instance) are left out.

1.9.0

New

  • Auto show (option): windows show in combat or in a group, and hide 10 s after a solo fight.
  • Bar text columns (options panel): total, per second and percent can each be shown or hidden. In combat the percent is never shown, as the amounts are secret.
  • Chat report from the breakdown: right-click the breakdown title to send that player's top 5 spells to raid, party or say. With a comparison open, the compared lines (12.3k | 9.8k (+26%)) are sent. Out of combat only.
  • Bar height (options panel): slider from 10 to 40 px. Windows keep their number of rows.
  • Background opacity (options panel): slider from 0 (transparent) to 1, for the meter windows and the breakdown.
  • Test mode (/fm test): fake bars in the meter windows, to tune texture, font, height and opacity without a fight. Threat windows are not affected. Off again after a reload.
  • Key bindings (Options → Key Bindings → ForeverMeter): show or hide the windows, reset the data, next mode of the first window. No key is set by default.

Fixed

  • Chat report: a line holding a secret name (creature session in an instance) is shown locally instead of raising.

1.5.0

New

  • Options panel: Options → AddOns → ForeverMeter, /fm options, or Options in a window menu. Bar texture, font, font size, language, scale, refresh interval, threat warning threshold, warning sound, pets in threat view, window lock, and a reset button.
  • Bar textures: blizzard (default), flat, gradient, glass, striped, fade. /fm texture <name>.
  • Bar fonts: six fonts shipped with the addon (Oswald, PT Sans Narrow, PT Sans Narrow Bold, Fira Sans, Fira Sans Condensed, Fira Mono; SIL Open Font License, see Media/Fonts/OFL.txt) plus the game fonts. /fm font <name> [size], /fm font default goes back to the game font.
  • Textures and fonts registered by other addons through LibSharedMedia are listed too, when one of them loads it.
  • Compare two players: with the breakdown open, Shift-click another bar of the same window to compare both sources spell by spell (12.3k | 9.8k (+26%)). Out of combat only: other players' data is secret in combat.
  • New modes: enemy damage taken and avoidable damage taken, shown only when the client provides these meter types.
  • Resize grip in the bottom-left corner, in addition to the bottom-right one.
  • Bars fill with an animation.

Changed

  • New window: takes the size and lock state of the window it was created from, and attaches to the first free side (below, right, above, left) without going off screen or covering another window.
  • Breakdown panel: now a separate panel drawn above the meter windows. Drag its title to move it; its position is kept. Until moved, it opens on a free side of its window.
  • Current fight title no longer shows a timer out of combat (the client keeps counting after the fight ends).

Fixed

  • A new font now shows right away, without switching modes, and on its first use.

Note: new texture and font files are only picked up after restarting the game, not with /reload.
