Description
Forever Maps
The whole world on one map, and a goblin who knows the way.
Beta: Forever Maps is still in beta. It works day to day, but expect rough edges, some missing roads and places, and things that change between versions. If something breaks,
/fmap errorsand/fmap debuggive a copyable report: please send it along with what you were doing.
Stop squinting at the world map, stop asking in chat where the flight master is, stop running into the wrong mountain. Forever Maps gives WoW Forever the map it deserves: every continent joined into one seamless, true-to-scale world, drawn from the game's own terrain, from the whole of Azeroth down to a single doorway.
Right-click anything, pick Go here, and the Goblin Position System takes you there: along the roads, onto the flight path, across the sea, into the dungeon. Turn by turn.
No setup marathon, nothing to download: it ships with a road network, asks a few questions on first start, and gets smarter with every vendor, trainer and herb you meet.
One map. The whole world.
- Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms and Zephras Isle on one map: pan across the Great Sea without switching anything
- Sharp at every zoom: the game's own terrain, with the capitals' buildings, caves and halls drawn in as you get closer
- Dungeons, raids and battlegrounds get maps of their own, and the area you are in lights up
- Opens on where you are; Follow player keeps it there; the mouse's back button undoes every jump
Go here. Anywhere.
- Right-click a place, an NPC, a quest, a pin or any spot on the map: Go here
- Plans the whole journey across roads, flight paths, boats, zeppelins and dungeon portals, across continents in one go
- Crossings still ahead arc over the sea; click one to jump to the far dock
- Follow a group member through a city, or be led back to your corpse first when you die
Meet the Goblin Position System
- Gazlowe rides along: where you are going, how far, how long, the next turn and the one after
- A round minimap of the road ahead that turns with you
- Turns as a callout, a sound, or spoken aloud by the game's text to speech, in the voice you pick
- Wander off and a big arrow points you back to the route
Search everything
One box finds places, NPCs, zones, your quests, and every item any merchant you visited sells, with price and seller, nearest first.
A map that learns as you play
- Every inn, vendor, repairer, mailbox, trainer and stable master you meet lands on the map, just the ones that matter to you
- Click a merchant on the map for everything it sells; limited items show the most seen in stock
- The Trainers panel shows what you can learn, and tells you the moment new spells become learnable
- Your mining veins, herbs, chests and fish pools stay where you found them
Quests, finally on the map
- Your quests' objective areas as the game draws them, each in its own colour, with points and turn-ins
- The Quests panel shows each quest's text with its places and NPCs highlighted
- With Questie installed, the objective spots of the quests you look at appear too (never required)
Make it yours
- Draw and fix roads right on the map
- Record your own farming routes with the GPS Recorder and walk them once, back and forth, or on a loop
- Right-click a group member's portrait: Show on map or Focus on map
- An optional, experimental fog of war for immersion: only what you have uncovered is shown
- Looks like part of the game: its own windows, buttons and menus; settings under Options > AddOns > Forever Maps
- Other addons can follow the navigation through a public API (
ForeverMaps_API)
Getting started
