0.14.1
What's new
Forever Loremaster 0.14.1
New in 0.14.1
- New dungeon: City of Dalaran (Forever beta, open for testing since 2026-10-08), levels 28-33. The entrance is not verified yet, so it has no map pin and is marked Unverified.
- New Forever mounts in the Mounts tab: the Galestriders (Empyrean, Stormy and Umber, plus their Swift versions) from Genn Fairweather on Zephras Isle, the Pack Kodo (Huey Sunnydale / Okamache, Merchant's Favor), the Forsaken Paladin Warhorse and Charger, and the Spectral Bear (Legacy Track). This is community-sourced Forever beta data, so these mounts have no map pins yet.
- No code changes besides the version number; settings, stars and tracks are untouched.
From 0.14.0 (not published separately)
New: Target loot panel
- New module Target loot panel (default on): target a mob or boss and a compact panel next to the target frame shows what it can drop.
- Up to 8 item icons (7 + "+N more" when there are more) with an item-quality border, the drop chance when it is known, and the normal item tooltip on hover. A
*marks items on your wishlist. - Drop chances are Classic data from AtlasLoot and are never guessed: if no chance is known, none is shown.
- Provenance labels as in the rest of the addon: Classic src (Forever dungeons, Classic loot data), Unconfirmed (Forever-only dungeons, community data from the beta), Classic, Forever unconfirmed (raids and world bosses from the Classic tables).
- Click: open that boss's loot in the Dungeons tab (world bosses: a loot list). Shift+click an icon: link the item in chat.
- Elite, rare or boss without data shows "No known loot". Normal mobs without data, players and friendly NPCs get no panel.
- Works next to the Blizzard target frame, ElvUI, Shadowed Unit Frames and PitBull 4. Shift+drag the panel to move it (respects
/flm move lock);/flm targetloot resetputs it back. - Commands:
/flm targetloot on | off | reset | test [npcId](testpreviews a boss without a target). Also in Options > AddOns > Forever Loremaster and the Modules tab. - Data: 310 bosses by NPC ID (Forever dungeons, plus raids and world bosses), 2,439 boss-item links, 2,054 with a drop chance. Source: AtlasLootClassic Continued (GPLv2), filtered to items in the Forever client.
- Light: one table lookup when your target changes, reused buttons, no per-frame updates.
New: Seen drops
- New module Seen drops (default on): logs what you loot per NPC, counted once per corpse, and shows it in the panel as Seen by you, also for normal mobs without a loot table.
- Your own data, stored in your SavedVariables, nothing is sent. Max 20 items per NPC and 2000 NPCs; the least-seen / oldest entries go first.
/flm seen on | off | clear [npcId].
Fixes
- Fixed a Lua error when you clicked a mob: "Modules/WishAlarm.lua:144: attempt to compare local 'tname' (a secret string value ...)". Forever can return unit names (and sometimes GUIDs) as secret values; WishAlarm compared the name before checking it. WishAlarm now uses the NPC ID and only falls back to the name when it is a normal value.
- Same secret-value hardening everywhere unit data is read: Target loot panel (UnitExists / UnitIsPlayer / UnitGUID), Seen drops (loot source GUIDs, target/mouseover names), player notes on unit tooltips (UnitFullName / UnitName), the Track key binding (target quest giver), the Party panel and the version check.
- Note on bags closing after a loading screen or when you die: that is the game's own behaviour (the default UI closes all windows, bags included, on every loading screen and on death), not Forever Loremaster. Forever Loremaster does not close or reopen bags.
Changes
- WishAlarm now matches your target by NPC ID (boss loot tables + your Seen drops) instead of by name; the name match is only a fallback.
- Self-test (
/flm qa): new checks for the NPC loot data, the Target loot panel and Seen drops. The "stat prefetch" check no longer fails while a stat prefetch is still running.
From 0.13.10 (not published separately)
- New setting Distance units: Yards (default) or Meters/Kilometers. Find it in Options > AddOns > Forever Loremaster, or use
/flm units metric,/flm units yardsor/flm units toggle(/flm unitsshows the current choice). Saved per account (distanceUnitsin ForeverLoremasterDB). - Every distance in the addon follows the setting: the Near columns (Quests, Loot, Dungeons, Mounts, Wishlist), row tooltips, the PathArrow and the Party panel. Metric shows "850 m" under 1000 m and "1.2 km" from 1000 m (1 yd = 0.9144 m). Yards stay "123 yd".
- Existing settings are kept; new installs start on Yards.
- Help texts no longer say "yards" where the unit can be metric.
- Self-test (
/flm qa): new check for the distance formatter. - TOC: added
