Description
Forever Flyby Buff
A little buff goes a long way. For the Horde!
Remember when traveling through Azeroth meant crossing paths with strangers, tossing them a friendly buff, and continuing on your adventure?
No party invitations. No conversations required. Just adventurers helping adventurers.
Forever Flyby Buff brings that classic sense of community to World of Warcraft: Forever, making it easier to spread a little goodwill wherever your adventures take you.
Whether you're leaving the gloomy streets of Brill, crossing the Barrens, or exploring the farthest corners of Azeroth, there's always another adventurer who could use a helping hand.
And with intelligent self-buff management, you can keep yourself prepared for the journey ahead while looking out for everyone else.
How It Works
Forever Flyby Buff discovers nearby friendly adventurers, identifies useful buffs they're missing, and organizes them into a smart, click-to-cast queue.
Simply click an adventurer or use your assigned keybinding to cast their next eligible buff.
The addon considers available spells, recipient levels, existing buffs, spell strength, and refresh timing to determine who could benefit from your help.
Your character takes priority whenever an enabled self-buff needs attention.
No complicated targeting. No party invitations. Just a friendly buff as you pass by.
Features
Smart Buffing for Nearby Adventurers
- Intelligent Buff Queue — Identify nearby friendly adventurers who could benefit from your available buffs.
- One-Click Buffing — Cast eligible buffs directly from the addon interface or through an assigned keybinding.
- Adaptive Spell-Rank Learning — Discover which spell ranks work on different recipient levels through actual casting results.
- Intelligent Rank Fallback — When a recipient is too low level for a buff, prepare the next lower eligible rank for your next click.
- Persistent Learning — Remember learned spell-rank restrictions across reloads and logins.
- Buff Awareness — Recognize missing buffs, stronger upgrades, and refresh opportunities.
- Self-Buff Priority — Keep yourself prepared before helping nearby adventurers.
- Paladin Blessing Intelligence — Select appropriate blessings based on recipient class, existing blessings, and your preferences.
- Class-Aware Buffing — Avoid offering buffs that aren't useful for a recipient's class.
- Secondary Buff Controls — Inspect additional available buffs and directly cast specific eligible spells.
- Smart Queue Management — Preserve player priority while accounting for casting failures, line-of-sight restrictions, and stronger existing buffs.
Adaptive Spell-Rank Learning
Because every adventurer deserves a helping hand, regardless of level.
Not every player you encounter is the same level, and not every spell rank can be cast on every adventurer.
Forever Flyby Buff learns these restrictions from actual casting outcomes rather than relying on estimated spell-level formulas.
- Learn from Experience — Track successful casts and confirmed recipient-level restrictions.
- Find the Right Rank — If a spell fails because the recipient's level is too low, prepare a lower eligible rank.
- Remember What Works — Preserve learned observations across sessions.
- Keep Discovering — Continue testing previously untried levels rather than assuming an exact minimum from a single success.
- Learn Beyond the Addon — Qualifying casts from action bars and macros can also contribute when the recipient can be reliably identified.
- Share Your Findings — Export learned spell-level data using
/ffb exportlevels. - Start Fresh — Reset observations for individual spell ranks or all tracked spells when needed.
For example, if Rank 3 fails on a level 10 adventurer, the addon can prepare Rank 2 for your next click. Rank 3 can still be tested on higher-level adventurers.
When all available ranks are known to be unsuitable for a recipient, the addon temporarily hides them from the queue before allowing another controlled attempt.
Every buff still requires a player-initiated click or keypress. Rank fallback never automatically casts another spell.
Personal Buff Management
Your adventure starts with being prepared.
Forever Flyby Buff includes independent self-buff tracking, allowing you to manage your beneficial spells separately from those offered to nearby adventurers.
- Independent Self-Buff Selection — Choose which learned buffs to maintain on yourself without affecting nearby-player settings.
- Expanded Class Support — Track personal armor spells, shields, defensive buffs, blessings, and qualifying long-duration effects.
- Conflict-Aware Selection — Manage mutually exclusive personal buffs without repeatedly switching between alternatives.
- Paladin Salvation Support — Track Blessing of Salvation independently alongside another selected personal blessing.
- Automatic Self-Buff Priority — Your character takes priority whenever an enabled personal buff needs attention.
- Configurable Refresh Timing — Decide when personal buffs become eligible for refreshing.
New self-only buff families start disabled, giving you complete control over which abilities to maintain.
Intelligent Rebuff Timing
Not every adventure calls for the same buffing strategy.
| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Open World | 75% remaining | Top off passing adventurers before they disappear down the road |
| Instances | 10% remaining | Avoid unnecessary rebuffing of familiar group members |
| Self Buffs | 15% remaining | Maintain your own buffs without refreshing too frequently |
For a 60-minute buff, the default settings allow refreshing when:
- Open World: 45 minutes remain.
- Instances: 6 minutes remain.
- Self: 9 minutes remain.
All three thresholds are independently adjustable from 0–99%.
The addon automatically switches nearby-player refresh behavior when entering or leaving instances. Missing buffs and eligible stronger upgrades remain immediately eligible.
Two Ways to Buff
Compact View (Default)
A small, streamlined interface displaying your next eligible buff recipient. Perfect for adventurers who want to keep their screen clear while traveling.

The Spirit of Flyby Buffing
Picture yourself heading out of Brill, preparing for another adventure through Tirisfal Glades.
An Orc Warrior passes you on the road, heading toward whatever danger awaits beyond the village.
You don't know his name. You don't know where he's going.
But you notice he's missing a blessing.
One click. A flash of holy light. A little extra protection for the journey ahead.
You keep running. He keeps running.
No words exchanged. Just a little Horde hospitality.
And somewhere down the road, maybe he'll return the favor to another adventurer.
That's what Forever Flyby Buff is all about.
Important Notes
- Player-Controlled Casting: Every buff requires a player-initiated click or keypress. The addon does not perform unattended or automatic spellcasting.
- Adaptive Learning: Spell-rank restrictions are learned from attributable casting outcomes. Untested ranks may still be rejected by the server.
- Nearby Player Discovery: Uses friendly units exposed by the WoW addon API, including group members, targets, mouseover units, and visible friendly nameplates.
- Game Restrictions Apply: Range, resources, line of sight, protected actions, and combat restrictions may prevent casting.
- Temporary Targeting: Buffing nameplate-only adventurers may briefly change your target before restoring your previous selection.
- Compatibility: Designed for World of Warcraft: Forever using the Forever 1.60.1 addon interface.
Keep the Spirit of Classic Alive
Some of Azeroth's most memorable moments aren't found in dungeons or raids.
They're the small, unexpected encounters with strangers along the way.
A passing blessing. A friendly Fortitude. A little extra magic before the next adventure.
Small gestures that remind us we're all sharing the same world.
Buff a stranger. Share the adventure. Keep the spirit of Classic alive.
For the Horde!
