Forever Cooldown Tracker (Ellesmere UI)

A fork of Forever Cooldown Tracker (Paladin & More), originally created by Ugge Zen (Uggezen). This repository builds on the 2.0.3 addon and improves the experience of managing tracked entries through EllesmereUI.

Credit and thanks

Huge thanks to Ugge Zen for creating the original addon and making it available under the MIT license. The cooldown tracking, buff timers, reminders, spell-rank tools, settings kit, and profile system provide the foundation for this project. This fork builds on it with improvements to the EllesmereUI settings experience.

Thanks also belongs to the EllesmereUI authors for the UI framework and plugin APIs used by the integration.

Changes in this fork

Visible, draggable tracking lists

The same editor is used on all four pages:

Each list provides:

• Drag handles and drag-and-drop reordering.
• A floating label and insertion line showing where an entry will land.
• A Remove button at the far right of each row.
• Cancellation when a drag is released outside the list or the page is hidden.
• Protection against editing an outdated list after settings or a profile change.

Orientation and growth direction

Arrange cooldown icons and buff bars horizontally or vertically. Horizontal layouts can grow left or right; vertical layouts can grow up or down. For buff bars, orientation controls how the bars are arranged.

Buff bar textures and appearance

Choose Blizzard's default bar texture or one of the textures supplied by EllesmereUI. Customize the buff fill and background colors, border color and thickness, buff name and timer font sizes, and text color. Spell icons, buff names, and remaining time can each be shown or hidden independently.

EllesmereUI appearance matching

Buff Bars, Cooldown Bar, and Reminders can inherit fonts, text colors, and borders from a selected EllesmereUI Action Bar. Buff bars also inherit that action bar's background when it is enabled, while keeping their own fill and layout settings.

Choose Custom to configure appearance independently. Cooldown icons and reminders have their own text size, text color, and icon-border controls. Appearance inheritance requires EllesmereUIActionBars.

Combat and target visibility

The enabled cooldown tracker appears during combat or while targeting a unit you can attack. Buff bars offer three visibility choices: Always, In combat, or In combat or with an attackable target. EllesmereUI Unlock Mode keeps enabled trackers visible for positioning outside combat.

Range dimming and ready glows

Cooldown icons can dim spells that are out of range of the current target and glow when spells are ready during combat. Both features can be toggled independently. Ready glows follow EllesmereUI Action Bars > Bar Animations > Custom Proc Glow, including its enabled state and style settings. A simple edge highlight provides a standalone fallback when the EllesmereUI glow engine is unavailable.

EllesmereUI settings and previews

Dedicated Buff Bars, Cooldown Bar, and Reminders settings pages include live previews that reflect layout and appearance changes. Right-clicking a tracker opens its corresponding EllesmereUI settings when the integration is available.

Use /euict buff, /euict cd, or /euict reminders to open the corresponding integrated settings directly. The standalone settings also include buttons to open these pages.

Unlock Mode and position persistence

Move buff bars, cooldown icons, and reminders through EllesmereUI Unlock Mode, with inactive or sample content available when needed for positioning. Position changes also update the active Blizzard Edit Mode layout, preventing an older saved position from returning after a reload or when entering the world.

Reminder spacing

Adjust the spacing between reminder rows from the Reminders Display page, replacing the original fixed spacing.

Shared components

OrderedList and TrackingEditor in EllesmereIntegration.lua implement the shared list and add controls. Each page supplies its settings list, labels, and matching explanation. Reordering, adding, and removing entries refresh the appropriate tracker and its EllesmereUI page cache.

A separate addon identity

The fork installs as EllesmereUICooldownTracker and uses its own saved variables (EUICT_DB and EUICT_DBC), named frames, addon-compartment callback, slash commands, and integration registration keys. Its TOC also omits the original CurseForge project ID so addon managers do not associate the fork with the upstream release.

Settings and profiles are stored separately from the original addon. To transfer a setup, export a profile from the original addon and import it on this fork's Profiles page; the shared FCT1 profile format remains compatible.

The EllesmereUI sidebar label is Cooldown Tracker.

Installation and use

1. Copy the addon files into your WoW installation's Interface/AddOns/EllesmereUICooldownTracker folder, with EllesmereUICooldownTracker.toc directly inside it.
2. Enable EllesmereUI to use the integrated settings pages. EllesmereUIActionBars is optional and supplies the appearance and glow settings used by the integration.
3. Run /reload, open EllesmereUI, and select Cooldown Tracker to manage the tracking lists.

The underlying addon also provides its standalone settings through /euict or /ellesmerecooldowns when EllesmereUI is unavailable.
