What's new

Quest Map Icons

  • Options now added to mark quest givers, turn-ins, and interactibles on your maps as you discover them. (Forever Bestiary remains independent of databases and website scraping.)
  • Quest icons list quests granted / accepted by quest givers within the level range set in the bestiary's options, and are marked off as you complete them. Because Forever Bestiary is not supported by databases, this does not track breadcrumbs and chains - only sources.
  • Although "Wanted" posters and stationary objects that grant quests aren't creatures, obviously, they were included in the quest tracking to avoid the questing experience becoming disjointed.
  • Class quests are hidden from other classes (tracked by looking for class trainers) and quests that are not cross-faction are hidden from one another. There may be edge-cases that need resolved, but pins can be dismissed via right-clicking on them.
  • Pins that are close to each other are consolidated to avoid cluttering the maps.

New Map Options

  • Additional options under "Map" to turn on/off quest icons and fine-tune what exactly you want to display.

Auto-Pinning Updates

  • Tuned the logic behind auto-pinning creatures related to quests. Some quests were not pinning relevant creatures, and some were pinning too broad of a range.

Loot Options

  • Loot sort button has been added. Sort by a number of options. Sorting by Rarity supports an additional sorting method beyond it (i.e. sort by Rarity > Alphabetically).
  • Quest-starter items no longer lower drop chance while the item is in your bags, its quest is in your log, or the quest is complete.

Creatures and Abilities

  • Debuffs a creature puts on you are now properly logged. Still subject to inconsistencies due to Blizzard's data lockdown, but this has been tested and should work for the most part.

Sharing Data and Badges

  • Two-part names were causing issues with sharing creature data and displaying badges on other players. Unable to properly test this myself in the wild, but tested through some commands calling the API in various ways and it seemed to work. Pushing an update with new logic.
  • Quest pins and quest data is now shared between characters like other data.
  • Sharing data would flood the player with badge updates. You are no longer flooded.

Window and Controls

  • Keybind has been added to open the bestiary window. Press it while hovering over a creature will open it directly to that creature. By default, this button is "~" (or more specifically "`")
  • Tooltips for creatures are now better spaced out. Words can breathe.
  • Divider lines have been improved to now always be 1 pixel and not scale oddly when the window is scaled up and down.
