Every zone guide was gone over quest by quest against the latest Forever quest data (21 October), checking order, coverage, coordinates, mob levels and wording. The main changes:

- **Dwarves and gnomes** now go from Loch Modan to Redridge, then to the Wetlands. Loch Modan ends around level 16 and the Wetlands quests need 19, so the old route asked for about three levels of grinding before the Wetlands. Redridge fills that gap with quests instead. Humans still go from Redridge straight to Duskwood.
- **Skyborne** are led from Zephras Isle to Westfall (Alliance) or the Barrens (Horde). Westfall hands in Journey to Sentinel Hill at Gryan Stoutmantle.
- **Elite and dungeon quests are optional**, with a tip saying how hard they are. These include Riptear, Ukorsbane, Halikor, Aggor, the Threshwackonator, the Goaz golems, the Dragonmaw Retreat orcs, Carnage and the new Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon. You can still do them if you have a group. Quests that need a group at the guide's level and that no later guide comes back to were dropped, for example the late Battle of Hillsbrad quests.
- **Broken or wrong steps fixed:**
  - Need for a Cure in Durotar now gets the antidote from Finding the Antidote within the 45-minute timer.
  - Westfall now does Alba's chain in the order the game offers it.
  - Seer Wiserunner is in his cave in Mulgore, not Thunder Bluff.
  - Cloven Hoof and Grenka in Thousand Needles have the right place and method.
  - The Piznik event names the kobolds that attack.
  - The Alien Egg's arrow now shows all three dens it moves between.
  - The Silver of the Waves toolbox is underwater, not on the beach.
  - Gyromast's Retrieval in Darkshore now has you collect the key pieces around Gelkak.
  - The Missing Scholar on Zephras Isle has its missing steps.
- **Quests added**, among them:
  - WANTED: Maggot Eye and The Reports.
  - Camping 101: Cooking and Elmpaw's Head.
  - Rough Wolf Pelts and An Enchanting Lesson, for skinners and enchanters.
  - The Admiral's Orders, Ak'Zeloth and The Demon Seed.
  - Preparation for Ceremony and The Barrens Oases.
  - Further Instructions and Gerenzo Wrenchwhistle.
  - Unrequited Love, which takes night elves from Auberdine to Menethil.
- **Less walking:** Hillsbrad (Horde) went from about 18,100 to 11,800 yards. A double hearth in the last Horde guide is gone, and several back-and-forth trips are gone too (Stonetalon, Ashenvale, Darkshore, Durotar, Mulgore).
- **Duskwood's level 29-30 quests moved** to the end of the last Alliance guide, now called Arathi, Hillsbrad & Duskwood (28-30). The ogres, Zzarc'Vul and the Rotting Orchard worgen were 3-5 levels above the player in Duskwood (25-26).
- **Every kill or collect step says how many** (for example "Kill 8 Dragonmaw Scouts"). Named mobs give their level, and many places are described more exactly.
- **Class quests:** the paladin Wolfsbane and Verigan's Fist guides now start at 22 instead of 20, since their quests are level 25-26.
- The target button no longer lists hidden "Credit" helpers that some quests count.
