This is an unofficial German translation patch for the World of Warcraft addon Follow The Arrow by Harldan.

The original Follow The Arrow addon is required. This project does not contain, replace or modify Harldan's original addon files.

What does this patch do?

Follow The Arrow contains many useful leveling instructions, quest explanations and route descriptions. While some names can already be provided by the German World of Warcraft client, many guide texts are written directly in English.

This patch translates these visible texts into German so that German-speaking players can follow the guide more easily.

It translates, among other things:

• Guide instructions and explanations
• Route and section names
• Quest-related instructions
• Buttons and other visible interface text
• Various location, item and profession-related texts

Where possible, the patch uses the official German names provided by the World of Warcraft client instead of maintaining its own translation. For example, quest, item or spell IDs can be used to ask the game client for the correct localized German name.

Texts that cannot be retrieved from the game automatically, such as Harldan's own guide explanations, are translated by the patch itself.

How does it work?

The patch is a separate addon that runs alongside Follow The Arrow.

A simple way to think about it is:

Follow The Arrow creates and controls the guide.
The German patch changes only the text that you see.

Quest IDs, coordinates, route logic, progression and the actual functionality of Follow The Arrow remain controlled by the original addon.

The patch does not overwrite any Follow The Arrow files.

If you remove or disable the German patch, Follow The Arrow immediately works normally in its original English form again.

Requirements

You must have the original Follow The Arrow addon installed.

This German patch will not work by itself.

Optional ElvUI support

If ElvUI is installed, the patch can optionally give the Follow The Arrow window an ElvUI-style appearance.

This is only a visual change and does not affect the guide itself.

The ElvUI skin can be enabled or disabled in the addon settings.

Updates

Follow The Arrow is actively developed. Larger updates to the original addon may temporarily cause some translations or interface elements to stop working correctly.

I will try to keep the German patch compatible with new Follow The Arrow versions.

This patch will be maintained alongside Follow The Arrow and updated as needed to remain compatible with future versions of the original addon.

Der Patch ersetzt oder verändert keine Dateien des Original-Addons.

Follow The Arrow übernimmt weiterhin die komplette eigentliche Arbeit: Quests, Wegpunkte, Routen, Fortschritt und Guide-Logik bleiben vollständig Bestandteil des Originals.

Der deutsche Patch kümmert sich lediglich darum, die sichtbaren Texte möglichst auf Deutsch darzustellen.

Dabei werden nach Möglichkeit die offiziellen deutschen Bezeichnungen direkt aus dem deutschen WoW-Client verwendet. Texte, die von Follow The Arrow selbst geschrieben wurden und deshalb nicht automatisch von WoW übersetzt werden können, werden über eigene Übersetzungen des Sprachpatches ersetzt.

Einfach gesagt:

Follow The Arrow steuert den Guide.
Der Sprachpatch übersetzt das, was du davon auf dem Bildschirm siehst.

Wird der Patch deaktiviert oder gelöscht, funktioniert Follow The Arrow sofort wieder ganz normal im englischen Originalzustand.

Der Sprachpatch wird parallel zu Follow The Arrow gepflegt und bei Bedarf an zukünftige Versionen des Original-Addons angepasst.

Optional kann der Patch außerdem das Follow-The-Arrow-Fenster optisch an ElvUI anpassen.
