FocusSync

An addon that helps syncronizing raid marker for m+ dungeon interrupts.

Summary

Synchronizes personal focus markers and interrupt assignments across World of Warcraft dungeon parties.

Description

FocusSync

FocusSync helps dungeon groups coordinate focus targets and interrupts by assigning each interrupt-capable player a unique personal raid marker.

Every compatible client receives the same synchronized assignment. FocusSync only reports READY after all required players have acknowledged the current assignments.

Features

  • Assigns a unique personal raid marker to every interrupt-capable player.
  • Keeps assignments synchronized across the party.
  • Detects interrupts available to the player’s active class and specialization.
  • Treats healers with an available interrupt like normal interrupt players.
  • Exempts healers without an available interrupt from marker assignments and READY requirements.
  • Retains valid assignments when the party composition changes.
  • Automatically elects a coordinator for group-wide synchronization.
  • Displays missing, incompatible and exempt party members.
  • Supports optional marker preferences and a configurable marker pool.
  • Includes explanatory tooltips and hides coordinator-only controls from other players.

Focus marker macro

FocusSync creates a character-specific macro named FocusSync. Its icon follows your assigned raid marker.

The macro:

  • Focuses a hostile, living mouseover target.
  • Falls back to your current hostile target.
  • Applies your assigned raid marker to the focus.
  • Does not replace a raid marker already present on the target.
  • Does not change your current target.

FocusSync never marks enemies automatically. The macro must be pressed by the player, as required by World of Warcraft’s protected-action system.

Interrupt macro

The optional Interrupt button creates a character-specific macro named FocusSyncKick.

FocusSync detects the interrupt currently available to your active class, specialization, talents and pet. The macro casts at a living hostile focus and otherwise falls back to the normal target.

The macro is updated after relevant specialization, talent, spellbook or pet changes.

Ready-check announcements

FocusSync can optionally announce the local player’s assignment when a ready check begins:

I am assigned to ~N for interrupts.

The feature is enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings. Available channels are:

  • Party — default
  • Instance
  • Say

Only READY players with an interrupt assignment send a message. Exempt healers do not announce an assignment.

Group requirements

Every party member should have a compatible version of FocusSync installed. This allows the addon to determine interrupt eligibility and synchronize the same assignment state across the group.

A player who does not respond during discovery is treated as required and will prevent READY. This avoids incorrectly exempting a missing player.
